Jeffrey Epstein was found “semi-conscious” with marks on his neck in his jail cell in New York City, according to published reports.

The pedophile billionaire financier was found semi-conscious in the fetal position on the floor of his cell at the Metropolitan Correctional Center. There were superficial marks on his neck, two jail sources told News 4.

A source told News 4 Epstein may have tried to hang himself, while another source said his wounds were not that serious.

Epstein was arrested on July 6 and charged with conspiracy and sex trafficking involving minor girls under age 16.

Investigators are trying to determine if the wealthy former teacher and investment banker tried to hang himself or if he was assaulted by another inmate.

Investigators questioned another inmate, a former police officer who was arrested in December 2016 and charged with killing four men during a botched drug deal.

The inmate, identified as Nicholas Tartaglione, buried the bodies of the four men in his back yard, according to News 4.

Tartaglione claimed not to know what happened to Epstein. His attorney Bruce Barket denied Tartaglione assaulted Epstein. The former cop apparently told his attorney he didn’t see or hear anything. Barket said his client and Epstein got along just fine.

“They are in the same unit and doing well,” said Barket. He said any claim that Tartaglione might have assaulted Epstein “is absolutely not true.”

Epstein is currently under suicide watch in the MCC jail. He was seen walking around and appears to be fine, Barket told News 4.
