ABC execs scrambled to edit a segment of The Tamron Hall Show after the talk show host admitted dealing cocaine with her boyfriend in college.

Production insiders tell the UK’s DailyMail.com that Hall’s confession stunned the audience and her bosses at the TV network. Executives scrambled to edit Hall’s drug dealing confession out of the pre-recorded show.

Insiders say the prim and proper host confessed to a live audience that she helped her boyfriend “facilitate” selling cocaine when she was a teenager in college.

On Friday, Hall backtracked, saying her words were taken out of context.

Hall told DailyMail.com in a statement that she never “dealt drugs” in college. She said she was speaking about “part of an open and honest conversation about women” in prison.

Hall explained, “During an interview with prison rights advocate Topeka Sam, I shared a story about a bad situation I got myself into when I was 19. I never dealt drugs.”

Even if she did deal drugs, it happened over 3 decades ago.

“I am now nearly 50 years old and was reflecting on a bad judgement call that could have turned worse. I say but for the grace of God, there go I. It was part of an open and honest conversation about women, incarceration and mistakes made.”

Hall admitted producers edited the segment in which she reportedly confessed to dealing drugs.

“For legal reasons a portion of that segment was edited from the show. I hope my show can be a forum for sharing stories without shame or judgement – including a conversation we’re having Friday on opioid addiction.”
