Rapper Jeezy and “The Real” co-host Jeannie Mai got engaged on March 27 – less than a year after they began dating.
The couple made their relationship Instagram Official in September, after dating just a few months.
While Jeannie says she has met her “equal” in the 42-year-old rap mogul, Jeezy’s friends say he is having second thoughts.
Jeezy, real name Jay Wayne Jenkins, is said to be “annoyed” that Jeannie’s name always comes before his in news articles.
While urban blogs showed Jeezy some respect, mainstream news outlets gave Jeannie the shine — which doesn’t sit well with the “Thug Motivation” rapper.
Sources say Jeezy is not pleased that his friends believe Jeannie is using him for a come up.
PEOPLE magazine broke the engagement news on Monday, April 6, with the headline: “Jeannie Mai and Jeezy Are Engaged! Inside Their ‘Quarantine Date Night’ Proposal.”
Entertainment Tonight’s headline reads: “Jeannie Mai and Jeezy Are Engaged.”
E! News also gave Jeannie top billing: “Jeannie Mai & Jeezy Are Engaged!”
London’s Daily Mail also lead off with Jeannie in its headline: “‘YES’: The Real’s Jeannie Mai confirms engagement to Jeezy after rapper pops the question during ‘quarantine date night.”

Macho men like Jeezy are used to being the king of his castle and wearing the pants in the relationship. They don’t do well in relationships where the woman has more power and fame.
Sources say Jeannie, 41, began dating Jeezy because a Black man will always be viewed as her lesser in society.
Jeezy was previously engaged to an African businesswoman (pictured). He claimed her infant daughter as his own.
There are rumors that Jeannie is pregnant with Jeezy’s 2nd child (he also has a grown son). But the pregnancy rumors are unconfirmed.
