Fox News has fired The Five co-host Bob Beckel after he allegedly made an intensive remark to a black employee. Fox News issued a statement announcing his termination on Friday. The employee has already retained an attorney and plans to file a lawsuit against the embattled network.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the ratings of Empire‘s debut season on the UK’s youth-oriented E4 Network Channel averaged a mere 717,000 viewers.

Though the series still easily won Wednesday night, in both the key demo and total viewers, it slid another half of a point among adults 18-49 for an average 4.6 rating. The Fox drama also averaged 12.2 million viewers. Empire has seen its time-shifting take rise with each same-day fall since the lofty premiere, so it’s becoming apparent that it currently isn’t nabbing the appointment viewing status that it had during its freshman season.
Insiders whisper that Fox Network execs are ignoring the live viewer ratings and focusing instead on the artificially inflated DVR ratings.
Rap mogul 50 Cent blamed Empire‘s drop in ratings on “too much gay stuff.”
At this point, it looks like nothing short of firing Lee Daniels will save this sinking ship.

For the 3rd consecutive week, Empire has dropped in the ratings. Wednesday night’s episode drew just 12 million viewers. That’s down 1 million viewers from last week’s episode and down 4 million viewers from Empire‘s season 2 premiere.

Fox has reportedly placed an order for a new TV series to be directed by insufferable egotist Lee Daniels.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the new series is about a girl band’s meteoric rise to the top, reminiscent of Dreamgirls. And, since Daniels is a narcissist, the story is based on his life.
