If you missed last night’s episode of Fox TV’s soap opera musical Empire, you’re not the only one.

For the 3rd consecutive week, Empire has dropped in the ratings. Wednesday night’s episode drew just 12 million viewers. That’s down 1 million viewers from last week’s episode and down 4 million viewers from Empire‘s season 2 premiere.

Empire broke records last season by increasing its viewership tenfold with every episode. But season 2 is doing the exact opposite by losing viewers with every episode.

There are so many problems with season 2 of Empire it’s hard to pinpoint just one.

The main problem is the script: it lacks cohesion or entertainment value. As many viewers have already noted on social media, the script is “all over the place.”

The 2nd problem is the horrible soundtrack. Jussie Smollet can’t sing and Bryshere Grey can’t rap. The music takes away from the show rather than adding to it.

The 3rd problem with the show is its competition. Empire goes head-to-head with ABC’s Black-ish and NBC’s Law & order: SVU — 2 shows that don’t bash their viewers over the head with hidden or overt agendas.

Rap mogul 50 Cent and others have complained that Empire‘s constant references to homosexuality is off-putting.

Take notes, Fox TV.
