Happy Independence Day – if you celebrate it.

As a kid in London, we celebrated Bonfire Day. The grown folks built a roaring bonfire out in the back yard and we kids used the flames to light our fireworks. Oh, and we roasted marshmallows too.

One of my readers points out that we were still slaves when Independence Day was created. But hey, that was so long ago, right? It’s still a fun day!

    The geeky Chris Brown is at Chastain tonight at 7 p.m. Ticket prices range from 58.75 (lawn, no chairs allowed) to $$88.75; Chastain Park Amphitheatre, 4469 Stella Drive N.W., Atlanta. 404-249-6400. I pity the fool who lives near Chastain.
