Lil Durk Banks and Nicole Covone’s son Angelo Banks graduated from junior high school in Georgia. His stepmom, India Royale was there to support him.

India took photos with Angelo and Willow Banks, her 7-year-old daughter by Lil Durk.

Durk is also stepfather to India’s other daughter, Skylar, from a previous relationship. India and Durk were married in 2024.

Durk and his ex-wife Nicole also share a 12-year-old daughter, Bella Banks (pictured left with Angelo and their half-brothers).

Durk and Nicole split up shortly after Bella was born. A few months later, Durk welcomed a son, Zayden Banks, with another woman. He has five other children by multiple women.

Lil Durk couldn’t attend Angelo’s graduation because he’s currently locked up in a federal detention center awaiting trial in California.

Durk was arrested in late 2024 and charged with masterminding a murder-for-hire plot. The Grammy-winning rapper is accused of sending O’Block gang members from Chicago to Los Angeles to execute rival rapper Quando Rondo in August 2022.

The gunmen followed Rondo and his cousin to a gas station across from the Beverly Center, where they opened fire on his car. They missed Rondo but killed his cousin.

The hitmen were arrested and at least one of them snitched on Durk, leading to a federal indictment against the rapper. The hit was in retaliation for the shooting death of Durk’s 26-year-old artist King Von in Atlanta in 2020.

Durk pleaded not guilty and his defense lawyers filed motions to dismiss his case. A judge rejected Durk‘s request for a $4.5 million bond in June 2025. He will go to trial in August 2026.

Rapper Young Thug is among Durk’s supporters calling for his release. “Free smurk please god,” Thugga wrote in a tweet on May 13.

Brian Steel, the prominent Atlanta attorney who represented Young Thug in his YSL RICO case, is also representing Lil Durk.

“I get very close to my clients. I meet their families,” Steel told Billboard in March. “Because if I’m going to defend somebody, I gotta be invested. I gotta believe in the person. I gotta make it where if I lose this case, it’s going to ruin my life.”

He continued: “I just want to help people, ethically and zealously. And I don’t want to hurt anybody, and God willing, something good will come out.”
