Sugar Ray Leonard’s youngest son Daniel Ray Leonard was arrested early Wednesday for violating a restraining order in Los Angeles.
Police say Daniel, 25, was charged with violating a restraining order at his father’s residence in West Los Angeles shortly before 5:30 a.m.
“On May 20, 2026, around 5:29 a.m., officers assigned to the West Los Angeles Area responded to the 1500 block of Amalfi Drive for a radio call of a restraining order violation,” the spokesperson told Fox News Digital. “Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody for being in violation of his restraining order.”
TMZ reported Sugar Ray filed a restraining order against his son. Court records don’t show why the 70-year-old boxing champ filed the restraining order. A hearing is scheduled for June 15.

Initially, Daniel was identified as a family friend. However, Daniel is the boxing legend’s youngest son by Bernadette Robi. She is the ex-wife of NFL legend Lynn Swann and the daughter of Paul Robi, a member of The Platters (“Smoke Gets in Your Eyes”).

Sugar Ray and Bernadette Robi, who were married in August 1993, also share a daughter, Camille Leonard (right).
Sugar Ray and his first wife, Juanita Wilkinson, have two sons, Ray Jr. and Jarrel.
Sugar Ray married his high school sweetheart, Juanita, in 1980. Their 6-year-old son, Ray Jr., who was born when she was 16, served as the ring bearer.

Sugar Ray Leonard is considered one of the greatest boxers of all time. He had a record of 36 wins, 25 by knockout, 3 losses and 1 draw.
He won a gold medal as a light welterweight at the 1976 Summer Olympics.

Sugar Ray and Daniel posed for photos with singer/actor Usher Raymond at the 2016 ESPYS in Los Angeles. Usher played Sugar Ray Leonard in the 2013 film Hands of Stone.
“What he did as a boxer is no different from what I do as a dancer,” Usher said of Leonard in the November 2013 issue of Men’s Health magazine.
