Singer/songwriter/producer Keri Hilson is no longer content with making moves behind the scenes. She wants to be recognized for her talents. Keri has penned Top ten hits for industry royalty like Fergie, Mary J Blige, Ciara, Toni Braxton, Ludacris and more. Last night Keri and Polow Da Don held a private listening party for her debut album titled Energy.

Polow Da Don hosted the event. Industry insiders like Rashan Ali (Hot 107.9), Greg Street (V-103), Nicole Garner (Garner Circle PR), Sonia Murray (AJC), Charita Brittenum-Carter (Geffen Records), and others stopped through. She is cute and talented (and even had on a cute outfit for a change). The problem is that when songwriters become artists, we usually end up wishing they were just writing again. the only huge success stories i can think of is JayZ’s ghost writers Styles P, Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco and Lil Wayne- but you didn’t hear that from me…

There is something about Keri that im just not feeling. I wanna like her and her song Energy is cool. I think people are just really hyping her up and I dont see why…Hope her album does good….I hate that hair though….

she should stick to writing. every pretty face doesn’t have to sing too. is she the complete package? i remember debra killings released a solo album; gospel of all things. flopped like crazy. stick to behind the scenes. we can’t all be the star.

her cd is actually very well put together and the event at the bowling alley after the listening party was even better

She’s a really nice girl and nice looking, but musically I don’t get her. She sounds different on every single track I have ever heard from “Hey Now” (Xhibit) to her new solo stuff and everything in between. I should be able to hear the first verse of a track and know it’s her singing considering the amount of songs I’ve heard by her and featuring her.
