Thomas Beatie, a woman who thinks she’s a man, gave birth to a baby girl today. This is not news. We should be talking about how to treat individuals who suffer from gender identity disorder and not make a cause célèbre out of their pitiful stories. Shame on the media.

But what’s up with the pictures and trying so hard to look like a man? Really? One, it’s not a new scientific miracle, this is just a hair chick who cut off her breast! Two, it looks like a picture of a hair dude with a beer belly! There’s nothing cute or “awww!” like about this picture; it just looks plain gross!
But to each their own! I don’t have a probably with people living their lives. But I’m starting to get irritated by the fact that people are trying so hard to make it seem like this is a biological, male when it isn’t.

Wow, I didn’t think people were still so shallow minded concerning transgendered individuals.
Actually, this is a medical condtion that already has a solution. The solution is taking medicine and doing surgical procedures that allow a person to become whatever gender they mentally feel they are.
Altough I don’t understand why this female to male transgendered would make the decision to have a child, I can learn to accept that this is not a medical conditon that one has to be locked up for in an asylum. It’s obviously genetics.

I hate how they keep calling it a miracle. What miracle? Women have babies everyday! Just because this one wants to be a man, then be a woman to have a baby, then go back to being a man…

No one is being shallow minded. I completely understand the whole transgender thing. No one is knocking him/her for wanting to be a man and living his life that way. But the fact is, this is still BIOLOGICALLY a woman! So she/he is not special, it’s not a miracle, just another woman having a baby.

That pic is really repulsive. I don’t think anyone here is being “shallow minded” and I don’t understand how that ties into the ‘down low tranny man sex’. The pedestal this woman puts on and tries to get the world to buy into is a mockery and pure foolishness. I feel for people who feel they are trapped in the wrong body – never been through that…..but if her choice was to have a baby then so be it. I have an issue with the “I’m a man having a baby”. If that was the case, I would have paid good money to have my husband carry my twins and exploited his ass as a man having a baby. If they wanted a baby so bad and she wants to be a man—why didn’t she let her woman have the baby? Until the uterus is on the table, she is just a confused baby mama with hairy pits.

The reason why this made news is because this a man who used to be a women and now he’s preggo. It takes alot to get pregnant after taking so many hormones to tranform to be a man. And obviously, he looks like a pregnant man!!!

The fact that this is a transgendered pregnant male is confusing to me too but this is why it’s news because it’s hard for people to wrap their brain around.
My comments weren’t towards this particular issue, it was towards the comments that Sandra and other people made about transgendered people and how they need to be “treated”. It’s a genetic disorder that they can’t help and there are medical procedures that are available to them to help them achieve their goal in becoming whatever gender they mentally are.
As far as my down low comments, what I meant by that was that if people weren’t so closed minded and judgemental about people who are or like things out of the norm then maybe more men would be more comfortable in coming out of the closet and stop living a down low life style.
Oprah needs an intervention. Thomas is a woman. There is no man on this earth that has female reproductive organs. She delivered the child vaginally. This is no man. A person should not be allowed to change one’s gender legally until that person meets the normal physical standards of the new gender i.e. a man will have a penis and a woman will not. Stop telling the world that Thomas is a man when she has a cooch.

Hermosa, I think that a person should complete the transition from male to female or female to male completely before they can be legally considered the transitional gender. Thomas did nothing but remove her breast and take male hormones to grow facial hair. That is not enough to be considered a man.

I don’t have a problem with transgendered people, just a problem with people who don’t know what the heck they wanna be. I mean either you’re a man or you’re woman. I don’t think you should have it both ways. If this man/woman is confused just think of how confused the child will be. Does it have 2 mothers or a mother and a father or a mother and an it.
