New Music: Solange – T.O.N.Y.

T.O.N.Y. (The Other Night Oh Y Did I Do That?) is a feel good track that’s reminiscent of Erykah Badu’s “Tyrone”. I had to listen to this track twice for it to grow on me. And now I love it! Solange is striving to make a difference in this blighted music industry. We appreciate her efforts! We asked her to tone it down a little and she did. We can hear the improvement in her delivery. Her music is about substance, not naked abandon or fluff like her sister Beyonce.

It’s ok. She doesn’t sound like B on most of it. That’s an accomplishment. I still don’t think it will be possible for her to establish her own identity when her voice sounds just like B’s. I admit she is a great song writer though. Maybe she should head up a group now that B isn’t doing that anymore.

she has the same vocal trainer as b and kelly so of course she sounds like her..the substance is refreshing though..very different
