I have never liked Steve Harvey since that time I was back stage at an event in the late 90s. He made a smart assed remark to me which I won’t repeat. But of all the things a celebrity has said to me over the years, that’s what I recall most vividly.

Steve Harvey is and always will be the one of the most pompous, self-centered a-holes in the business.

So it is with pleasure that I expose his fake azz (thanks to That Bitch) who dug up this old video of Bernie Mac basically saying Steve Harvey and his publicist attempted to steal his role in Ocean’s 11:

Steve and his publicist went behind his back and contacted the producers and tried to tell them that Steve would be a much better fit for the part? At the time, Bernie said of all the Hollywood bullshit he’d been through that was the one thing that hurt him the most. (Source)

Well, it’s been said before that Steve Harvey is an azz, so this isn’t surprising.

STEVE HARvey wouldn’t have been a good fit. picture that toupeed fro tryna blend in…i dont see it at all. no matter what man, bernie mac put his stamp on everything he was in. from house party III to the shady preacher in Friday praying with Ms. Parker…he did the damn thing.

Most people know about the incident between Steve and Bernie on the Ocean’s 11 deal. Steve wanted Bernie to step aside because he thought the movie would be his entryway into mainstream acting. The writers and producers chose Bernie and the rest is history. Past issues aside they were close friends at one time and I believe Steve’s grief is real. Many of us don’t realize what we have until it’s gone. I remember Monday nights at the Cotton Club in Chicago when the only people who knew Bernie the comedian, were the locals. He was looking for his big break. He was always gracious, funny and pure hearted. Steve was just starting to hang aroung Chicago too, neither of them had yet taken their act on the road. Please put the sillyness aside and allow people to remember him well. Anything else would be so disrespectful. There comes a time when media people need to use tact, let that be now for you. This is not the time to bring up old beefs.

I agree with AugustTee…They must have put this situation behind them and were able to remain friends because I haven’t heard about this in a long time. Steve Harvey is obviously saddened by the loss of Bernie Mac, so bringing this up is really uncalled for!

Everything happens for a reason and it was a BLESSING that he even found out who Steve REALLY was so as not to MISTAKE him for a true friend.

I agree with AugustTee, it seems now when we lose someone in the entertaiment industry folks try to stir up conflit!! I can understand Steve trying to make his way on the bigscreen but it wasnt in the cards not a movie like that anyway!! I also agree with pointhimout everything Bernie did seems like it was made just for him & he did the damn thing in each & every movie, I was on youtube watching old episodes of Def Comedy Jam he was hilarious “I ain’t scared of you muthafu**as” LOL Bernie you will truly be missed!!

I’ve actually watched/listened to the video now, and I believe that Steve Harvey was truly saddened by Bernie’s passing.

I do remember when Bernie spoke on the Steve/Ocean 11’s sitation, but that doesn’t mean in any way that Steve isn’t grief stricken right now. You never know WHAT Steve was going through during the Ocean 11 time… or now.

i absolutely can’t stand steve harvey. I agree with sandra on this one as well.

Steve Harvey is a pompous mutha..he wasn’t even in bernie’s league, steve isn’t even really funny, he’s funny looking, but not really funny to me. He’s ugly with them big soup coola’s.

I thought it was ironic that he brought up how bernie was a family man, and stuck with the same woman for 30 years, something he couldn’t do…steve, with his pompous arrogant ugly as/s, threw his wife out for a drug whore. Bernie was a true family man…he was what he was. He loved his beautiful dark skinned wife, and didn’t let hollywood go to his head. However, steve harvey is a low down dirty dog, treated his wife bad, traded her in for a light complexed cheap whore.

I wish that was the actual video……I remember the interview…me and my best friend spoke about it on Saturday after we saw/heard Steve’s interview on CNN. I hope they were able to reconcile their differences….I know from people who have worked with and for Steve Harvey that he can be “a bit much”…Although this is not the time to dwell on the negative…Steve has some soul searching to do….we should treat people with love and respect while they’re still here to appreciate it….because we never know when this journey on Earth will end….R.I.P… Bernie Mac…you derserve to do just that !! LET LOVE RULE !!!

Well in Steves defense….Berney started the whole thing by doing a magazine interview where he spoke shady of Steve. This was before Oceans,,,,This is when Steve was first hosting a radio show in Losangeles…Everyone was calling the station,,,,Steve was dumbfounded or at least acted as if he was by what Berney had said…Something to the effect that he didnt understand why Steve had to be the headliner in everything they did…Something like that…The explanation was simple-With 2 television shows under his belt, and with more popularity of course he would be the headliner….Of course they would make it Steve Harvey and the kings of comedy…Thats business….After all Berney didnt get his show until after the kings of comedy…Steve actually seemed hurt…From that point on they were beefing I believe…So it doesnt surprise me that Steve may have done this…He and Berney were not friends at the time…I dont think that makes him 2 faced…Bitter maybe,,,,Jealous possibly,,,Or maybe just a good business man,,,but not 2 faced….HE AND BERNEY MAC HAD FALLEN OUT.

Anyway maybe it’s time for us to let stuff like this go so this man can RIP…
