Yesterday, Green Party presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney, held a press conference to reveal 5,000 black males were suspiciously murdered during Hurricane Katrina.
According to McKinney, the names of the 5,000 are contained in a Pentagon computer. She claims the men were prisoners whose bodies were dumped in a swamp. 
I do recall New Orleans prison officials releasing a large number of black prisoners after Hurricane Katrina when rising water flooded the prisons. Does anyone know what happened to those prisoners?

my uncle is a deputy in NOLA; no such thing happened. if anyone is looking for their loved one WHO WAS INCARCERATED, they haven’t looked too hard.
as for others, it is believed that the surge of water simply washed some folks out into the gulf. those found in their houses were generally under furniture or something that pinned them down. others floated out of their homes or wherever they were at the time of death.
NOLA held many unidentified and unclaimed bodies until just recently; they finally entombed them a few weeks ago.
thanks Free… in most cases the jails are evacuated 1st… if you can recall there were pictures of prisoners sitting on a bridge trying to get away from the rising waters… there were missing criminals, but most of them were sex offenders, etc. there is no sense in opening wounds for those that truly lost loved ones during that horrific time…
During this time I was working for TDCJ and from my understanding the prisoners where the first to be evacuated to different prisons in and around the Texas area. So a 5,000 body count is highly unlikely but very interesting.
