By now you’ve all heard the mainstream media uproar over “leaked” insider information regarding Alaska governor Sarah Palin.
According to a McCain insider, Palin allegedly didn’t know Africa was a continent and, among other transgressions, she supposedly came to the door of her hotel room in a bathrobe while campaigning as VP.
According to MSNBC and other media outlets, a McCain “campaign advisor” came forward to reveal that he was the source who leaked the scurrilous Palin information to Chris Cameron at FOX News.
Cameron, FOX, MSNBC and others were so caught up in an orgasmic frenzy that they forgot one simple tenet of their profession: to know their source.
As it turns out, the McCain “campaign advisor” — one Martin Eisenstadt — never worked for the McCain campaign and may not even exist! The leaked information from the McCain camp insider was apparently all a hoax!
FOX News has yet to confirm or deny the hoax, while others in the media, including the Huffington Post, are backing away from the story as fast as they can.
These smug, journalistic purveyors of gossip who ran wild with this story, are left licking crow off their collective faces while struggling to fathom how they were so easily duped by this elaborate hoax.
This isn’t the first or the last time the “mainstream” media has gottne caught up. They are no longer about reporting news but gettting the highest veiwer share for their time slot. Its unfortunate, but luckily the “mainstream” media is no longer the main way to find news or get information.
Looks like mainstream media starting to use Blogging antics get viewers
and we should care because ? ? ? ?
Sandra you read the story wrong or you are purposely misleading your readers. The person claiming responsibility for the leak is fake. The leaked information is not fake. The media knows who leaked the information because the McCain aids went directly to the media. The media outlets are just keeping the people’s identities confidential at their request. CNN for one told Sarah Palin directly that they got the information directly from McCain aids and Gov. Palin even seemed to be trying to guess who it was as she knew who she had talked to about Africa and NAFTA. Once again, stop playin Sandra.
Sandra,
Why are you so quick to report any wrong doing to the McCain and Palin stories but are so quick to judge or point out any Barack Obama issues. It seems to me that we know who your pick would have been, but your not a citizen so it doesn’t matter. But you are wrong to spread the bad words about our President elect and give praise to the losers. By the way did you guys peep President Obama’s swag when he was walking next to Bush at the White House. Nothing but Swag.
i don’t think sarah pailn can fake being dumb as it was just so natural on her…
wow..we’re still talking about this..the election is over move on..we all knew she was dumb regardless of “leaked” info
#5 – It is because controversy creates higher ratings meaning more viewers and comments. If she would have a nice blog where everybody was cool and the stories would be great. You guys wouldn’t be on this site. The more outlandish the story, the more you guys comment. That’s the name of the game. Google Adsense
dblaq
I don’t think that’s true. Serious blog topics get lots of comments on this site. Other sites might need to be salacious at all times, but I don’t need that here because of the large number of intelligent, mature people that visit this blog. What worries me is that sometimes people buy it when Sandra posts these fake stories. Most of the comments on this post illustrate that the readers believe what Sandra said although it is totally false.
Thanks Bird!
@Bird
Amen

Here you go with the half reports again. MARTIN EISENSTADT WAS NOT ONE OF FOX NEWS SOURCES! Did you skip that part all together? If you did I copied it below!
To be clear, none of this means the Africa story is false — just that it didn’t come from this source. Huffington Post has been told on background that Martin Eisenstadt was not one of Fox News correspondent Carl Cameron’s sources.
@Sandi
The mistakes she made in her interviews were her’s and no one else’s.
This blog misleads as much as mediafakeout. If this is the direction you want to take your blog in Sandra you need to be honest and say that! Wow and I thought it would stop after Obama won. There’s nothing you can do to take away his victory or his supporters.
Pot, meet kettle.
Did Obama win the election? OMG….OBAMA 08!! Again Sandra, you seem toasted and salty…like the rest of the peanuts in the gallery!!
Next!!!
Bird. I feel you but the comments on the fake stories tend to get the most comments period. It’s like watching this housewife of Atlanta crap that so many of the readers love but yet they know its its all bull and those chicks are lying their asses of but yet it gets high ratings or better yet Jerry Springer.
I heard Sarah Palin say in an interview myself that she had some questions about Africa the continent versus Africa the country, those were her words. Most of us know that Africa is the continent and South Africa is a couuntry … elementary school info. She should not have had questions about that if she wanted to be a step away from governing the most powerful country in the world? Should she really have access to the “nuke-u-lear” codes?
@ Bird…
I was watching the commentary also when they said that they know exactly which aid (s) said it. They are not going to reveal their sources.
Aren’t there two aids that have started to come forth?
@4 I agree..
If you guys want to know the TRUTH, CNN has an interview with Sarah Palin herself where she clearly admits she made mistakes regarding her knowledge of countries and continents when speaking with the debate preppers…she said it HERSELF! So it was NOT a hoax.
