As you know, the ACLU is strictly committed to protecting your rights to make your political opinions known, except when you’re within 100 yards of a polling place.

According to published reports, people are being turned away in record numbers for wearing inappropriate garments to cast their votes today.

One man in Atlanta wore the above t-shirt to a polling place and was immediately turned around.

Why? I’m guessing because the t-shirt could be construed as campaigning for Obama, who received an endorsement from Gen. Colin Powell, who convinced George Bush that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, which lead to the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Apparently, Colin Powell is promised a top cabinet position if Obama is elected.

The following is a list of things you should not wear to a polling place anywhere in the United States because officials are really tripping today:

  • Anything with Obama, McCain or Palin on it (apparently they don’t care if you wear anything that says Joe Biden)

  • No Halloween costumes (this should go without saying)

  • No campaign buttons that say things like “BARACK THE VOTE”. Trust, campaign officials know what “Barack The Vote” means

  • Don’t wear anything that might be construed as expensive such as designer dresses, shoes, etc. Campaign officials might think you’re being sympathetic to Palin

  • Wearing your hair in twists is a no-no — poll officials might think you’re being sympathetic to Obama since his daughter Malia rocks twists

  • Hey, I can’t make this stuff up! :)
