I can't decide if this is an insult to all black women, or encouragement to sistas who have options available to us.

    Please explain how being darked skinned and overweight automatically connects those women to not having an education, not being positve, supportive, overweight and having jacked up hair. Unless this is just a snippet of your letter you are bunching dark skinned and overweight women into this category correct? Are light skinned females exempt from the above issues?

    Thank you for your post. I am a slim woman and I hate when people say 'OMG, you are so skinny'. I could eat the majority of these people out of house and home! I am not anorexic nor bulimic. I just can't seem to gain weight.

    I have had a lot of full-figured women coming up to me commenting about my weight. And even still, I wouldn't dare disrespect their weight no matter what because I don't want to be rude to anyone. Slim women deserve the same respect.

About 5'1, barely 100 pounds and can eat like a 350 pound football player...and the food goes NO where. lol.

    And I agree, it's not right to disrespect someone's weight, but it would just be nice if they realize it has the same affect on people.

    Hello All. My mother, God rest her soul, once told me that the two worse things one can be in life are jealous and ignorant. That said, both maladies seem to eat my people alive! We need to get over all this bullsh!t and drama and get on with our lives. Get on with being successful, successfully raising all these children we're continually bringing into this cruel word, and last but not least, loving one another like we love ourselves. But alas, many of us are lacking when it comes to loving ourselves. Most are never satisfied with what we were born with, i.e. nappy hair, curves, big lips, etc. Look around you. Hollywood stars go under the knife to obtain curves, big lips, even hair weaves now. WE ARE THE KINGS, WE ARE THE KINGS, LET US START ACTING LIKE IT!
