Ciara Wilson penned an emotional tribute to her husband Russell Wilson as he announced his retirement from the NFL.

“As I enter this next chapter with CBS Sports and ‘The NFL Today,’ I’m so blessed to continue doing what I love most – being around the greatest game in the world,” Russell said in his retirement video.

“The best in the world! There’s only one, 3!” Ciara wrote in the comment section of Russell’s retirement video.

She added: “Always so proud of you! It’s a true blessing to go on this journey with you! My greatest inspiration! I love you so much!” Russell’s retirement is a bittersweet moment for the “Goodies” singer.

The 10-time Pro Bowl quarterback and Super Bowl champion will replace Matt Ryan on “NFL Today.” Matt left CBS to become president of football for the Atlanta Falcons.

Ciara, 40, was known for her R&B music career before she met Russell, 37. But being the wife of the Super Bowl champion made her more high-profile and in-demand.

CiCi rubbed elbows with celebrities and VIPs at Super Bowls and exclusive events. She particularly enjoyed roaming the sidelines with her children during NFL games.

The Grammy-winning singer met Russell in 2015 and they agreed to be celibate until they were married in 2016. They share three children. Ciara also has a son by rapper Future Hendrix.

“I really feel grateful for our ability to communicate with each other,” she said about Russ on “Over It Radio” in January 2025. “I feel like there’s nothing I can’t go to him about. And even if we have to find our way through it in the conversation, I feel very confident we’re going to make it on the other side.”

Ciara will step out of the spotlight as a housewife and mother-of-4 while her husband works as an NFL analyst on CBS Sports.

Ciara and Russell launched 3BRAND kids’ clothing line in 2021. 3BRAND surpassed the $100 million mark in sales in 2024.
