I am an avid reader of your site and I know by now that you are not a kool-aid drinker. The above link is from CNN regarding the prisoners (or former prisoners) of Guantanamo Bay. I just thought that you might be interested. I understand some of the politics behind closing the prison.

The Administration is concerned about this country’s reputation. But I am more concerned about why some of these criminals are roaming free on a beautiful tropical island and living in an American government sponsored apartment…. and if some of the prisoners are to be transferred to another country, they might receive $100,000 for re-settlement. The closing of Guantanamo Bay and the movement of the prisoners may or may not affect us greatly. But I can’t help but to ask if our tax dollars [are] going towards this as well? If you choose not to post this article or the link, I understand.

America has been holding innocent men in GITMO. That’s the problem. If the prison was on US soil, do you think they could have held any of these men this long without a trial? Sorry, but if you had me imprisoned for more than a year, and then let me go, you’d be paying me a hell of a lot more than a 100k and a trip to the Caribbean.

But in this case, this is the Bush adminstrations fail, Obama just has to clean it up and take the blame.
