I knew this would happen once bourgeoisie blacks realize that Barack Obama is not in office to be a champion of the black agenda.
From Politico.com:
When President Barack Obama takes the stage here Thursday night at the NAACP’s annual conference, he will be greeted by a base of black supporters who see him as the crowning achievement in the struggle for civil rights. Six months into his presidency, there are few signs that black support for Obama is softening.
Yet, many are hoping to hear from Obama something that they have yet to hear—specific plans to address the black agenda. READ MORE…
That’s part of the problem now concerning many black folks. We think that Obama should just be the President for us.
He is the President of ALL the USA including the rednecks.
If people have to wait for others to step up to do for them or to change their situations around then those are some very sad people.
DO FOR YOURSELVES!!!
I am not a
drinker as you call them. Cause I could care less about Poly-Ticks.
But
Only a narrow minded person would be waiting for Obama to address “black agenda”.
What exactly is “black agenda” anyway? We have equal rights? So, I’m lost with this one. Its early so let me think about it some more or someone help me out.
Should we have voted for someone who was not on the ballet? Angelina is changing the world better than our President. She adopts little black kids. I have never stopped thinkng why one would want to be President of the U S of A. The pay sucks and the invasion of privacy is so over whelming, but then again. Michael Jackson can’t even rest in peace. You can’t make all happy all the time.
@Ice I don’t think we as a people have equal rights all the time in the un just justice system which is why I believe the President appointed Atty Gen Eric Holder who is black. All crimes should be treated and sentenced the SAME no matter what color you are and that is not always the case. I wish NOBODY committed any crimes black, white or brown but thats not the world we live in so I say be FAIR to ALL criminals..lol
The NAACP knows the President is the President for ALL of US! Bill Clinton addressed racial profiling that was a black issue so Presidents can and have focused on a black issue.
Schools in poor schools dont have enough funding so the kids suffer. Unemployment rates are higher among black men and I refuse to believe that just means black men are lazy and dont want to work. These issues are also americas issue but when america has a cold black folks(some) tend to have the FLU!
I am glad the President STRESSED the importance of EDUCATION but I hope our kids have better public schools to go to sooner than later as well.
I believe in doing for self as well as HELPING others! Push me and I will pull you!
Bill Clinton addressed racial profiling that was a black issue so Presidents can and have focused on a black issue.

The important part of that statement was the issue part. Obama can address specific issues that affect blacks more of course He cannot address “the black agenda” If a yt prez addressed the white agenda what do you think would happen?
The blacks that “support is softening” after six months need to remember how long changes take to trickle down so the average person notices. Its only been six monthes! Jeez.
Secondly schools besides some federal programs and money are STATE RUN based on PROPERTY TAXES. If anyone has issues with their local schools, expecting Obama to fix it is if you work at Microsoft and have a problem within your dept and expecting Bill Gates to fix it. The pressure for better schools deserves to be on your(our) state reps. If you are on facebook add the public education in georgia to your friends lots of info.
Thank you Daisy
Can’t argue with that AT ALL!
& I guess cops killing (innocent) black men time and time again then getting off is another “black agenda”.
The Rockefella law is another “black agenda”.
Everytime a white woman goes crazy, kills her kids and blames a black man. Could be another “black agenda”
Jena Six is most certainly a “black agenda”
Those kids not being allowed in the pool.. “Black agenda”.
Yeah you woke my mind up this morning
I mean schools in poor neighborhoods
@Wiggy The President wants to make Public School better thats why I spoke on that and I am ALL for that. EVERYBODY can help from state, local and FEDERAL levels.
I NEVER said he had to or should address the “black agenda” I was pointing out issues that affect us more as a people and they can be broken down into issues to make everybody feel better.
@Ice yes some ppl both black and white feel now that we have a black Presdient there are no more issues, problems in the black community racism is dead we have racial harmaony yeah right ask those kids who wanted to swim, you could ask the man the police shot in Oakland but he is dead now. We have come a long way but still have a long way to go and we as a people have to do more and not wait on only the govt.(although I feel they can do their part as well) We have to take back our kids and communities. I won’t/dont use racism as an excuse but I won’t act like its not real and doesnt exit either.
I know you didn’t say that Daisy the article(Naacp)did. Thats what I meant we can all address certain issues that affect blacks but He can’t just come out and address “the black agenda” He would never get reelected if he did. And while all those issues ya’ll menitoned certainly fall into helping black folks, education is poor schools affects other minoritys as well as does racial profiling, etc. Racism mos def exists but now it its subtle( more damaging according to studies) than overt. No laws can change that. I think he’s going in the right direction with that with Sotomeyer etc Changing of the gaurd. Trying to get more families more money and opportunitys so all minority children can get on the same playing field. He’s started the ball rolling I wish these people would stop complaing about him and start doing.
how about black people address the black agenda first?
(Bring back that smiley)
@ Kara (scatch head) isn’t the president black.
& yeah auntie why did you take away the eyeroll smiley.
:waiving: <<<<—- another one we need.
Is the NAACP really that relevant? Like, what have THEY done in the last decade?
