Police in Worcester, Mass. are frantically searching for the person or persons who stabbed a mother of three and cut her 8-month-old fetus from her womb.
A landlord searching for the source of a foul odor found Darlene Haynes’s mutilated body wrapped in bedding and stuffed in her apartment closet yesterday. Police believe Haynes’s body had been in the closet for almost a week. Haynes family members say they last heard from her on Thursday.
An 8-month-old fetus would require immediate hospitalization since it’s lungs may not be fully developed.
Police have questioned Haynes’s boyfriend who moved out of the apartment last month. Haynes, 23, took out a restraining order on her longtime boyfriend Roberto C. Rodriguez, 24, after he pushed her onto a glass table and ripped a phone from a wall so she couldn’t call police on June 24.
Rodriguez told police he last saw Haynes when she dropped off their 1-year-old daughter Christina at his house on Thursday. Two other children, Jasmine, 4, and Lilliana, 3, are in the custody of Haynes’s relatives.
