Fort Hood shooter Maj. Nidal Hasan earned $90,000 a year as a military psychiatrist. A tidy sum for a man who hated his job and his country.
When you add in the special pay bonuses and military perks, his salary swelled to over six figures. He was making a nice chunk of change off of the military that he so despised.
According to online reports, Hasan lived “like a pauper” in an aging one bedroom apartment that rented for $300 a month. So where did all of his money go?
Hot Air has the answer:
Authorities have been examining whether Fort Hood massacre suspect Nidal Malik Hasan wired money to Pakistan in recent months, an action that one senior lawmaker said would raise serious questions about Hasan’s possible connections to militant Islamic groups.
Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich., said sources “outside of the [intelligence] community” learned of Hasan’s generosity toward terrorist organizations in the Asian country where Osama bin Laden is believed to be hiding out.
Wow, that sure makes us feel safe to know that someone in the military could send money to support terrorist acts against the United States and nobody within the so-called “intelligence community” caught on.
Obviously this man needs some psychological help because who would send almost all of their money and live like a pauper….
the psychiatrist needs a psychiatrist

Someone trying to destroy our military. People keep thinking this man crazy, his azz aint crazy by far, he knew what he was doing
That statement does not confirm that he wired money to any terrorist organization. It just says that they are looking into it. Goodness gracious, maybe he had a family in the middle east. Maybe his parents, and siblings live there. Give me a break!
@ alexander so true
I would have to wonder what would make a good soldier just snap like that? This guy grew up as an American. I am still thinking that whatever those soldiers with PSD were telling him about what they went through caused him to crack…There are thousands of other muslims who serve the US military and give their life.
From General Colin Powell
“Is there something wrong with being a Muslim in this country? The answer is no. That’s not America. Is there something wrong with a seven-year-old Muslim-American kid believing he or she could be president? Yet I have heard senior members of my own party drop the suggestion that he is a Muslim and might have an association with terrorists. This is not the way we should be doing it in America.
I feel particularly strong about this because of a picture I saw in a magazine. It was a photo essay about troops who were serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. And one picture at the tail end of this photo essay, was of a mother at Arlington Cemetery and she had her head on the headstone of her son’s grave. And as the picture focused in, you could see the writing on the headstone, and it gave his awards – Purple Heart, Bronze Star – showed that he died in Iraq, gave his date of birth, date of death, he was 20 years old. And then at the very top of the head stone, it didn’t have a Christian cross. It didn’t have a Star of David. It has a crescent and star of the Islamic faith.
And his name was Kareem Rashad Sultan Khan. And he was an American. He was born in New Jersey. He was fourteen years old at the time of 9/11, and he waited until he could serve his country and he gave his life.”
**** The picture of Kareem’s mother hugging his grave is worth more than a thousand words. I wish more stories like his would gain precedence in the media.
It WAS only a matter of time BEFORE they would say something like this (SO TYPICAL…)
@LL… I HEARD That
Don’t you get TIRED of people always claiming the CRAZY-Card !!!
@alexander
You MEAN Like… Barbers NEED Barbers & Doctors NEED Doctors & Lawyers NEED Lawyers

Exactly so why did he shott up our troops again???
Well when the Justice Department says that this was an act of terrorism then I will call it fact. For now from what I see this guy was went off the deep end.
@ Elove being a psychiatrist and being a Medical Doctor or Barber are two different things especially if it is dealing with trauma, and unthinkable horrors that our soldiers see on a daily basis, like bombs blowing people in half or disseminating faces, or guns shooting people heads off right in front of you. Any psychiatrist in the army should have someone checking for their mental stability as well.

I agree with you
I’m still trying to figure out what indicates that he actually has been wiring money to Pakistan? Shouldn’t there be records that they can look up to see exactly where the money is going and who is signing for it? I wouldn’t doubt that he is though, but where is the evidence?? Show me the money!!!!
