Etta James Hospitalized; Beyonce Heat Perfume Ad Debuts

According to singer Etta James’ son, the Diva was hospitalized about a week ago with sepsis (a serious blood infection) caused by a urinary tract infection.

Donto James said his mother entered a drug rehab facility on the west coast to shake her dependency on prescription drugs. She was transferred to another facility then to the hospital when her condition worsened.

James is best known for her timeless classic “At Last” which was the subject of a full length movie starring burlesque singer Beyonce. Speaking of Beyonce, her perfume ad debuted this morning all over the Internet.

In the video, Comedian Mooney calls Kanye West a hero, Beyonce a bucking horse, and Oprah a double agent (an Aunt Jemima with a degree). He also checked Sasha/Beyonce (I’m confused) about disrespecting Etta James and showing the white girl more resspect. This is a good one.

Not sure if I will be trying the Bey fragrance out. Usually celeb fragrances are not ones I wear.

Also, I read about Etta James’ horrible addiction to heroin and now prescription drugs. I hope she gets well very soon. The music community still needs you Etta!

Get well Ms. Etta and Daisy’s mother. I miss my maternal grandmother. That was my girl. At least she lived long enough to see me become an attorney. She worried that I would not ever get married. I wished she could have met my kids. She would be shocked that I am married with three children. She must have really been praying for me.

Thanks for your I was driving home yesterday after talking to my mother its really not looking good. She was fine over the holidays actually she was fine up until the day she fell ill and its been down hill from there. I am trying to stay positive and keep the FAITH and just accept Gods will.
