Rap producer Shawty Redd, real name Demetrius Lee Stewart, remains in a Henry County jail one day after Henry County Superior Court Judge Brian Amero set his bond at $200,000. But friends say the diminutive producer is too broke to post bail.
“He’s not ballin’ like that. We in a recession. He doesn’t have $20,000,” said a friend referring to the standard 10% bail bondsmen require as a deposit.
Stewart has been in the jail since his New Year’s Day arrest. He is accused of shooting 35-year-old Damon A. Martin of Detroit during a quarrel at Stewart’s home in Hampton, about 30 miles southeast of Atlanta.
Stewart’s lawyer, Marcia Fuller, said Tuesday afternoon Stewart was in the process of bonding out of jail but did not immediately return a call seeking comment Wednesday.

Do you really think gun reform would work? Its still really easy to get guns illegaly, and if the person has no qualms about taking a life they probably wouldnt go through the legal measures to carry anyway right? Also, maybe then the number of stabbings or beating deaths would see an uptick possibly…I think it will only end when people stop trying to live “thug life” and learn how to settle disputes in a rational way.

I agree…but in the end it is about accountability. I have grown up around guns and Ive always known they are no joke. Not a toy to play with. I dont even allow my three yr old to play with toy guns, Ive drilled into her since she was two that they are not toys and they can really hurt you. Her dad is in the military and if she ever finds his gun for some reason Ive taught her to back away and tell a grown-up.
Also, there are too many instances of guns not being properly stored. With kids in the home they should be locked up and/or out of reach.
But of course that still wont take care of all the human filth who are just hell-bent on destrying themselves and others. But hey, you are right…something needs to definitely be done, I just believe in the right to carry.

Yep a happy medium. I believe there should be stricter penalties for people who have someone die as a result of negligence, such as a gun not properly secured. Also for those who sell them illegaly. I have also seen where people go to gun shows and purchase them by-passing all the standard record checks at a gun shop, those should be better redulated as well…but people on either side seem so stuck in their position they cant conceed and work together…meanwhile incidents like you named will continue.

I can’t post this question on facebook because all of my friends will know who I’m talking about… So anyway…
My brother and my best friend have been “seeing eachother” for about 6 months now. They both see other people as well. That is their arrangement- I don’t get in the middle of it or judge them. Well now best friend is prego and is trying to say she’s sure it’s my brother’s baby. I know for a fact that she has another guy she sleeps with. What am I supposed to do? Would you tell your brother or stay out of it? My loyalty will always be with my family BUT I also feel like it’s not really my business- especially since the baby isn’t here yet. I was thinking I was going to wait until the baby was born and see what the baby looked like-I sounded so ghetto saying that. I can’t even believe this situation. SIGH…. Since I can’t really go to anyone else with this all suggestions will be seriously considered.. SMH

Due to the fact that they were seeing other people I would hope that he would request a DNA test. If he hasnt said that he would I would just simply suggest it. They werent in a committed relationship and he should be affored the right to know now, not wait late on down the line because the baby doesnt look like him, or someone else tells him something. You dont have to say she slept with anyone else. If he asks you why you suggested it, tell him becuase you love him they arent married so it should be done. Now if he refuses, I would talk to the friend and tell her to tell him the truth if she was sleeping with someone wlse at the same time. The only concern should be for the innocent child. IMO

Well I’m no expert but I will tell you what I would do….To my understanding they agreed upon having this arrangement…Being that blood is thicker than water I would definately ruffle my brothers feathers and remind him that she is with other dudes, therefore the baby may not be his. In this case a i that a test is needed once the bay is here to confirm if he is the father. Why does she all of a sudden claim that he is the father. Is it a situation where she knows your brother will be the one that steps up?

@cheeks- She said the timing and the fact that she uses protection with the other guy- I told her that didn’t mean anything that my 2nd daughter was born even though my husband and I used condoms. I don’t really know the other guy to speak on him but she is very close with my family so she know we’ll definitely be there.
I really didn’t want to get into an arguement so I left it at that I mean it COULD be my brothers… but it COULD be the other guys. I think after the baby is born I’ll just tell him to get a DNA test in the hospital just in case… I’m sure she’ll probably hate me and he’ll probably look at her funny like “why is your best friend telling me to get a DNA test” but oh well- I can’t have that mess on my head.

I really hope things turn out well for all involved. It sounds like your brother wants to be in the child’s life which is why the test shoukd be done. Its nots fair for him and the child to bond and you find out they are not related. I will pray that it all works out in the end.

If she is sleeping with friends with benefits she is not ready to be a mother. Being a single parent is no f’ing joke and if she could avoid it she needs to. I don’t know how old she is but she doesn’t sound mature enough to bring a baby into this world. Hopefully she figures this all out before she is standing over a baby crib watching a screaming baby who won’t let her get any sleep.
