i am usually a high strung person and i was so calm, nothing bothered me on my wedding day, including one of the groomsmen deciding he would go back to the hotel and get drunk and show up late…the original piano player not showing up or the limo company showing up w/ an old limo instead of the one we booked!
i just insisted that my girls wear spanx (what? i didn’t want lumps) and at the last minute (literally when folks were lining up) i told my best friend that my godson could not be in the wedding (he was whining and needed a nap)…

the girl that had the boxing match with her husbands’ mom was from Madison, WI. I saw that show with my wife and she was trippin because they used to be Jahova Witnesses when they were younger and she went the same union hall. i felt sorry for the dude because i already know what his life is gonna be like and if he decides to leave or fight back the system is gonna eat his slow ass up, but that’s another post. but yeah, my wife called up her sisters on speaker phone and they clowned ole girl the entire show. lol

Awwww I love happy conversations :). I went to like 6 weddings last year…LOVE IS BEAUTIFUL!. I want a fall wedding and I want crimson as one of the colors. I know I’m gonna catch some flack because crimson is the color of the rival team (OU) I graduated from OSU. I just love a deep red, perhaps I will have a wine/champagne color with it…ahhh wishful thinking..Congrats intense!
my mom thinks most of those people who are on bridezilla and rich bride/poor bride will end up divorced. not b/c of the amount of money they spend on the money (b/c people love to say when you spend a whole bunch of money, you will be divorced), but b/c the men will eventually tire of all the drama the ladies bring.

but i can say that 11+ years later, we are still falling deeper and deeper in love everyday. you think you know everything about a person when you get married, but it’s really the “unfolding” that occurs during the marriage that deepens the love, respect and admiration you have for each other. God bless you ladies and remember your vows! you never know what “worse” is going to be and sometimes you have to be the bigger person even when you feel wronged.
i could go on and on but you get the drift. always remember why you married him in the first place and keep a sense of humor about EVERYTHING! it will see you through even the most trying of times.

My girls dresses were all chocolate. I had two JR. Bridesmaid that wore chocolate but had pink sashes. I thought it was going to be pink overload or pepto bismal but it wasn’t. I should’ve went with grey and yellow because we saw a tux with those colors and it was gorgeous.
I watched all of those shows faithfully. Not so much now and it’s been 6 months. I know I would get mad and say “I should’ve done that” if I did.
I told the photographer that I really wanted pictures of the decor more than anything. haha Sad I know. But I just thought that with dresses they are almost all the same and unless you are butt naked no one will remember it a year from now.

my wife watched that show all the time but i couldn’t because i refuse to believe that the stress of a wedding has all those women acting like that. you know those women are pure hell all year round and seeing women act like that irks me to the utmost. best believe i’ma make sure my boys don’t go out like that. and yeah, ole girl got locked up because she was on probation at the time and left the state or something like that but she had the nerve to lie to the police when they pulled her over.

LOL!! Yes, we’ve finsished planning everything, dresses, jewelry, seating charts, programs, etc. So as of today, everything is in the hands of the wedding planner, my mom and my future mother in law. I’m only contacted if it’s an emergency. I was hoping I would have everything done at least 2 weeks before the wedding so I could have time to sit down and breathe a little before the wedding. I want peace and I want to be in a calm and happy place on my day!! NO Stress!!
Bridezilla did NOt get taken off air the season ended that’s all. They should be back again n the fall after wedding season
I always said I wld pick a color but let my few (2 more than likel) pick their own dresses. I want a small destination island wedding no more than 50 guest if that. Small simple and at sunset!

congrats on all the brides to be. i had a great wedding but, looking back, i shulda just went to the damn courthouse. i got all kindsa ish i don’t use–lil makeup purses and shirts that say “bride” (that will never fit me again), white bejeweled slippers and flip-flops, gifts still in the closet, extra keepsakes. i was into pink at the time and i have all kinds of pink junk in a drawer. it all seemed cute at the time but i never even did my photo album. the pics are still in the boxes and the canvas print is propped up against a wall. it was nice for the few minutes it lasted but i should have went on a 3-week honeymoon instead.

I was on the Knot nonstop. I love the blog, the magazine and the newsletter. I love, love, love the Knot. It made my life a lot easier and it definately helped to relieve some of the stress early on when I couldn’t find a venue.

I promise once the rsvp’s come in, it (the knot) will save your life. it makes it so easy to keep up with your budget and your rsvp list and your seating chart and I can keep going. Love the Knot. Will be signing up for The Nest and The Bump when the time comes. We created a website and gave our guests the option to rsvp online. We had originally thought our guest count would be around 175-200 people…note even close. 244 people rsvp’d.
I tried the know but couldn’t get the hang of it. I did post pictures afterwards though.
RSVPS are a must. Most people said we wouldn’t get them back but we did and all but 8 people actually didn’t show that said they would. The reception was full. I got married in September and I’m still getting magazines and emails. haha

We invited 210 people. All of the vendors said we would only have 60%-70% of the invitees show up, so we planned for 200 guests. The vendors were wrong. I know it’s kind of bad, but towards the end, we were kind of happy when someone sent back an rsvp and “regretfully declined.” My family is huge, so I guess I’m not too surprised. I had a cousin I forgot to send an invitation to and he rsvp’d online. I was like what??? He never comes to any family functions.
I’m not sure about the seating chart, I will ask my mom. She handled the seating chart arrangements after the rsvp’s came in.
And I meant to say we planned for about 175 guests.
