It must be REALLY hard to be a young lady and have LisaRaye as a mother. How do you EVER live up to that? Even if you’re pretty, you’re going to ALWAYS be judged by the standard of your mom if you’re not drop dead gorgeous.

That’s very unfortunate and I wouldn’t with that on ANYBODY – I have to live with that because of my dad, who is 70, but my 30-somethin’ year old female friends are always talking about the fact that he could still get a hit (and he’s taken more than a few) LMAO!

Second random thought… why are the STYLIST always the worst lookin and worst DRESSED people AT these events? How can you be a stylist and not know what to put on your OWN a$$?!!

I’d love to know what the people who find it easy to call someone a “has been” do for a living and how much that occupation drops into their accounts annually? LMAO! What, exactly do YOU do, Ms. Poet that it affords you an opportunity to call someone who can still pull in a few million dollars per year a “has been”. If what LisaRaye makes annually is considered “has been” in YOUR world… how can I get on? (Poetry don’t pay that much… in fact, I know a LOT of em… it simply DOESN”T pay)

And as far as LisaRaye being fine as insinuated in my original post… there are a LOOOOOOT of men, myself (and probably yours) included who can explain THAT to you. LMAO.

I never said that her daughter was ugly… I said, “when your mother is LisaRaye, you have a LOT to live up to” and the REALITY of that statement is that, even if you asked a 15 year old boy which one of those two he would pin up on his wall… LisaRaye would win hands down.

Am I the only one who thinks that Tocarra NEVER looks happy on her pictures anymore? She always looks like she has something on her mind.

On another note: I’m glad she stopped speaking because she ruined ANY fantasies I had about her with that HORRIBLE, ghetto a$$ voice, diction and dialect. What the HELL?!?!

Apparently, because I love Brandy FOR her ballads and the ones on this album were just very, “eh” to me. This the first Brandy album that wasn’t in continuous rotation for me.

Love her music, her attitude stanks though. I interviewed her “other” brother and his mother last year and they both have reached the same conclusion – Sonja Norwood is the problem in that family and Brandy follows suit with the nastiness.

Realistically? Because Will Smith kept that show on the air as long as he did in order to put it into syndication and with that done, the actors bring in just as much as they were when the show was on the air, so, even if she was making $400K per year, which is feasible – LisaRaye can still command $5-7K per night, doing club spots… that’s for 2 hours work…. 2 club hosting gigs at $5,000 per gig would put her at $20,000 per month, for 8 hours work….you do the math.

Did I say what she made last year, or did I say, “still has the ABILITY to make?” There’s a difference, Mama. And again, I choose to look at the positive in this situation – instead of looking at someone still trying to get their paper on and calling them a “has been”, I choose to try to look at the situation differently. It’s not so much that you’re a “hater” in as much as you SOUND like one.

In my experience, the “poet” types are the “deep” brothers and sisters who are about uplifting black America… but now that I think about it, they’re all fake as hell… so carry on. lol

And incidentally, I know several people who would look at a government worker with that very same fastidious eye (and then some) and wonder… “Really?”

Any BLACK person who is LEGALLY doing better than I am, regardless of whether they’re still doing it to the same degree that they were in 1999… I’m all in it! What I’m NOT going to do is look at you as if you’re some sort of vile human being unworthy of the air you breathe because I haven’t seen you on TV lately – what, exactly does that negativity bring to this post about her new show?

I don’t like Brandy’s newest music, she’s DEFINITELY not selling albums the way she was at the height of her career, but at the end of the day, I’m going to buy her next album. I don’t think she’s a has been… I just don’t think she’s selling albums the way she used to.

Will you be considered a “has been” if you get laid off today and your current co-workers can’t see your earnings, or your worth 3 years from now?

SO… does this make you a has been if you don’t sell any books? LOL Does it make you “less than” because you’re trying to get in where you fit it, even if you have to do it one book at a time, by soliciting sales through a blog comment section? There are some who would call you a never was… but I don’t think so! I think it means you’re on your hustle and I would have an issue with ANYBODY trying to low rate you for trying to do what you do – legally.

I can do you one better, I could interview you and get you some publicity for that book that could translate into plenty of sales…

How’s that flowin’ for ya, susta? Apparently written word from a MAN is something that you simply can’t get with – and that’s OK. But being able to effectively convey my thoughts is something my mother and father taught me at home… and something I personally decided to investigate further when I attended college(s).

I’ll say it once more before I’m out. If a black man puts a sentence together and it’s too much for you. Don’t blame HIM. Blame the people who socialized you in a world where written/spoken word is gender based, blame the circles you personally choose to socialize in, and then take a class at the University of Phoenix to catch up.
