Paparazzi snapped a few pics of a scene from Tyler Perry’s new movie starring Whoopi Goldberg, Kerry Washington and that foine Khalil Kain yesterday. As you know, filming has already begun on ‘For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf’ in NYC. And even though singer Mariah Carey dropped out (thus, sparking rumors that she may be pregnant), the film still has a stellar cast.

I know how you ladies feel about men starring in any of Tyler Perry’s projects. But you can rest assured that ~~Tyler has not tapped Khalil~~ Khalil is not gay.

I realize a paycheck is a paycheck, but a male actor has to be truly confident in his manhood to appear in a Tyler Perry film these days! Khalil had me open when he starred as Raheem in Juice with 2pac Shakur back in the day! But I was young, what can I say?

just watched an interview with Janet and Tyler on a British talk showand they looked awfully too close. Janet’s hands was all over his knees. Tyler’s body was leaning on Janet’s throughout the whole interview and he kept touching her back then They will smile at each other..CALL ME CRAZY BUT..could it be? :love:..Tyler and Janet ?

I gotta jump on the Tyler and Janet scenerio. He seems very affectionate toward her. His voice and face gets all warm and fuzzy when he talked about her and he seemed to be emotionally moved when he discussed giving her a break during the filming of “Why Did I Get Married Too” when Michael died. He also did interviews for her when she returned to filming to ease some of the pressure for her to speak.

I woulf like them as a couple. That would be a POWER merger.

That is Anika Noni Rose, not Kerry Washington. I will be seeing this movie when it comes out as I like to make up my own mind about films and not those supposed critics and bloggers who rarely have anything nice to say about anything. Khalil Kane is a handsome fella, STILL!

ggouch…your comment is on point. I’m going to date myself here, but I remember seeing the play ‘For Colored Girls…’ on PBS back in ’79. Lynn Whitfield was in it and she was absolutely gorgeous. It was great to see so many dynamic BLACK women on TV especially at time when seeing black folks on TV was few and far between.

Tyler Perry isn’t the best director, so I hope he does Ntozake Shange’s masterpiece justice. And, you are 1000% right…’The Darkest Child’ would make a great movie or play.

I have The Darkest Child and have read it like three times. The running joke in my family is that that’s MY mother. LOL. I don’t know about them making it a movie because I would be pissed if they got the wrong actors.

Is it not one of the best black written works of fiction of the 2000’s… I swear this book played out like a movie in my head as I read it. I couldn’t put it down. I know what you mean…I can see clearly Mos Def playing Velnum. I would love to see Badu play Mushy. I was thinking Halle could play rozella and ruby dee could play the old midwife….
I was so impressed with this book, I can’t stop walking around with it. I read it in 3 days. HAd not stopped to eat, sleep and go to work..I probally would have read it in a day!!!! I picked this book up simply because of the cover and it has become one of my favorite books.
