Aww, Blanche Deveraux was my favorite character on The Golden Girls. I’ll miss her. 
Golden Girls actress Rue McClanahan has died as result of a massive stroke early Thursday, RadarOnline.com has learned.
The actress, 76, was best known for playing the man-crazed Blanche Deveraux on the hit NBC 80s sitcom, which is still popular in reruns.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer in June 1997, a condition from which she fully recovered. McClanahan had health problems earlier this year when she suffered a minor stoke after a bypass surgery in November 2009.
In 2007, she published her memoir entitled My First Five Husbands.. And The Ones Who Got Away. In it, she candidly discussed her life and loves.
McClanahan’s death leaves Betty White as the sole surviving Golden Girl: Beatrice Arthur died from cancer last year, while Estelle Getty died in 2008.
In addition to the Golden Girls, McClanahan — a veteran Broadway performer – played Vivian Cavender Harmon on TV’s Maude, and Fran Crowley on Mama’s Family.

I still watch the Golden Girls on Lifetime! It is said that we are suppose to mourn when someone is born and celebrate when they die. Not the easiest thing to do, but it is written! God Rest your Soul!

All 3 died back to back. 2008,2009,2010. Rose is already 88.
The GG was one of the funniest shows on TV. They just don’t make comedy like this anymore.
She was my favorite GG. Her comedic timing was impeccable. She was also wonderful on Maude (an 70s comedy for those too young to remember) as well. Her, Sophia, Dorothy, and Rose played off each other so well.
Thank God for reruns.
She will be missed.

Rue was my favorite Golden Girl. I was crushed when I heard Whoopi on The View earlier announce Rue’s passing. Blanche was indeed one of my favorite characters on television. Rest in Peace Rue. We will miss you but you will always be a Golden Girl.

RIP Rue. Estelle Getty was the youngest golden girl out of the crew but played the oldest. Maude was a spin off the TV show “All in the family” Conrad Bain (Mr. Drummond) played her husband. “The Jeffersons” was a spin off too from “All in the family” I think “Goodtimes” was a spin off from Maude because the mother played Maude’s house keeper. I know it’s off the topic but alot of good shows develped from other shows and you remember the characters well.
I will miss her. R.I.P. Blanche! My favorite was Bea Arthur but I really appreciated that show and even own the first 4 seasons on DVD lol A definite classic television show.
