My nephew Sam from across the pond sat down with R&B crooner Trey Songz for an interview earlier this week at the Atlantic Records HQ in London, England.

He writes:

A somewhat restrained [read: arrogant] (and at times irritable) Songz, appeared reluctant to answer questions about his much-publicised feud with R. Kelly, as well as questions about his gay fanbase. Still, the Grammy nominee spoke more freely about his forthcoming album, his response to claims that his success is due to solely to his ’sex appeal’, kissing Keri Hilson and Toni Braxton, and much more. An ‘interesting’ watch to say the least.

In my opinion, Trey Songz is an arrogant lame who does not know what it means to humbly accept his newfound fame with grace. If it wasn’t for the fact that his CD barely went gold, none of us would be talking about him.

Personally I don’t see what all the hype is about dude. I like a few of his songs BUT his singing is average at best. Too me he sounds like someone that is trying too hard to get his Jodeci on. The Real of King of R&B is Maxwell, IMO. He makes beautiful music w/o having to be vulgar and risque. He doesn’t rely on gimmicks and publicity stunts and is very humble. If D’Angelo would have left the drugs alone and focused on making incredible music, he could have been on top of things.

For example, a 15 and a 25 year old is totally different, one can’t even drive or drink yet, they have probably have never had a job, never paid bills, had a bank account, traveled alone, lived on their own…Just haven’t experienced life….Where as a person of 25 probably have done all of those things, finished school, could have graduated college even obtained a master’s degree. What would they even talk about?

Whereas, let’s say a 25 and 35 year are both adults and have probably had similar experiences.

I think it is perfectly normal for girl to date and marry men several years their senior. We all know men and women “mature” much differently so it’s not suprising to me for a female to date a man older than her or vice versa.

I have dated an 19yr old and I was 27 and it was cool. We had a lot of fun.

well sweetie, I wasn’t saying that you were a whore at whatever teen age you lost your virginity… …but if you’d like to go there….you said you were raised to wait until marriage clearly as a teen you didn’t even consider what you were taught. I wasn’t told an age limit, I was just told to keep my legs closed and that boys only want one thing at that age…….I simply wasn’t interested enough, I had other shyt on my mind i guess…..when it happened I still wasn’t ready, and when I got pregnant I was afraid….but the difference between getting pregnant as a grown up and getting pregnant under legal age is being able to get a job and go to school (college), getting your own place in your own name being able to provide for your OWN CHILD without the assistance of foodstamps and medicaid, being able to have means of transportation, etc… The difference between losing your virginity at a legal age also allows you to be aware of the risks your taking, being able to go to a doctors visit and get paps or STD test as suggested when you are sexually active, not having to wait on your parents signature of consent for treatment or testing, it also reduces the amount of sneaking out of the house to do shyt you don’t have any business, or sneaking niccahs in to do the same, as a grown woman in YOUR OWN SHYT, you can do what you want on YOUR OWN DIME, especially when your already taking care of yourself…doesn’t make you a whore after 18, just makes you prepared for the worse, which ever direction you take on YOUR OWN PATH in life.

Donny had a lot of issues we all know that. Hel.l he was on meds for his mental disease (i forgot which one it was) and then he killed himself. He was working on his next album when that happened. Donny could sang anybody underneath the table! Stevie on the other hand has had numerous hits from many decades! He is the King…..he gotta be cuz no one else can/has touched him!

Honestly I always knew right from wrong. Didn’t sneak anyone in or out and as a matter of fact, when I lost my virginity I was open with my parents and told them. I kind of was acting out in rebellion and being alone with someone for a few hours, it’s tempting when you starting kissing and such so…… My parents trusted me and I kind of ran with it. But I was allowed to date after 16 y.o.

SN: My high school had a clinic. We could get treated during school hours (paps, STD screening/testing, condoms, birth control, etc.)

I had Stevie ranked third. He can’t claim the sort of hits across decades to that Marvin Gaye can so I have him ahead of Stevie. And R.Kelly has his own hits as well as hits he’s written for others. I have him ahead of Stevie too.
