Controversial author and talk radio therapist Dr. Laura Schlessinger showed her true colors during a racist rant against a caller yesterday.
When a sista called into her radio show to complain about her white neighbors’ racist reactions to her interracial marriage to a white man, Dr. Laura showed no compassion or understanding. When the sista mentioned the use of the n-word, Dr. Laura went off.
“Black guys use it all the time,” she said. “Turn on HBO, listen to a black comic and all you hear is ‘nigger, nigger, nigger.’ I don’t get it. If anybody without enough melanin says it, it’s a horrible thing, but when black people say it, it’s affectionate.”
When Dr. Laura welcomed the same caller back from a commercial break, the caller, who is black, informed Dr. L that she was insulted by her casual use of the n-word.
Dr. Laura immediately jumped on the defensive. “Oh, then I guess you don’t watch HBO or listen to any black comedians?,” she seethed.
She went even further by including Barack Obama in her rant: “Yeah, we’ve got a black man that’s president and we’ve got more complaining about race than ever. I mean, I think that’s hilarious.”
Dr. Laura then attacked the caller for not manning up, telling her she’s got a chip on her shoulder. The call quickly went South with Dr. Laura spewing more racist hate and abruptly disconnecting the caller.
She then made a sweeping comment about interracial marriages in general, saying “Don’t marry out of your race if you’re that hypersensitive about color.”
She later apologized once the sh*t hit the fan.
