When Twitter Goes Horribly Wrong: Rickey Smiley goes awf

Thanks to loyal reader Georgeanna M for this tip, since I don’t follow syndicated radio morning show host Rickey Smiley on Twitter. I realize this is random, but it illustrates my point that certain celebrities who lack impulse control should give up their Twitters.

He was going off in defense of the Steve/Mary Harvey drama. Someone tweeted that MAry was on the Tom Joyner MS and asked Rickey if he would have her on his show. He said no and tweeted some other ish abt it then tweeted for Mary to go away bc no one cares abt her. I guess that angered one of his followers bc sh said that they do care abt Mary and that now Steve had his friends bullying her. So she asked Rickey is he was f**king Steve. The first tweet posted here was his reply. Then someone else wrote that his response to her was disgusting. Sandra, most of his tweets during his morning show are similar to your post. None of his followers should be surprised, its a DAILY occurence. Not saying that it’s right or anything, but it is pretty much the norm for his twitter page.

Rickey is always going in on someone. I had to unfollow him because his tweets were filled with so much profanity and then he would send out a “Praise Jesus” tweet. On top of that his grammar is HORRIBLE!

Rickey is emotional and loyal but I am still a fan. He is and will continue to go hard for Steve Harvey based on what he saw as well as what Steve told him. I told him I was still waiting to hear Mary on to defend herself after the assistant threw her under the bus. Mary was also on power 105 this am in NY this is so messy and I love it though I do feel bad for Wynton.

ROO to Rickey. On to the Mary/Steve drama. My mama said that she was on the Tom Joyner show and said she wanted to end the drama and she would be willing to talk to Steve without lawyers, Tom said he would make a call to Steve. Someone texted them and said Mary was already on another radio show. I don’t believe for one second Tom got Steve number, I remember Tom was mad that the radio station cut off his show for Steve’s and Tom bought the station. Rickey will ALWAYS go hard for Steve, the frat brothers and that is as close to blood as it is going to get.

Tom didn’t do anything wrong. He was basically saying that he wanted them to settle the issues privately…which I totally agree. But when she was tellin her side, it felt like she was defending her self, and it felt like Tom was defending Steve. Tom even said something along the lines of ” …but does that change all the good he’s done” (referring to Steve). I jus wish Tom would have stayed more neutral…if that makes sense…

Rickey Smiley is taking that frat stuff to another level…yeah Steve is a Que, so what??? It doesn’t mean what Mary is saying isn’t true. Rickey Smiley and Steve Harvey are close. Rickey considers Steve a mentor plus they are fraternity brothers (as well as Ton Joyner). I’m disappointed in how he went off on Twitter but he does things like that all of time. He can’t allow people to get under his skin like that.
