Clothing giant Kenneth Cole tweeted this today on his Twitter page in an effort to promote his Spring 2011 clothing line. It worked. Understandably, his 9,000 followers, and the rest of the blogosphere, are in an uproar.
As I typed this post, Mr. Cole removed the insensitive tweet. He tweeted this moments ago, “I have removed this morning’s tweet. Please visit this link to see my apology.”
Some people’s sense of humour is just awful!
When I find out where they sell tact I will be sure to let him know.
Yt folks say the darndest things….
@ stunnaz, I agree. Poor judgement at its best!

Folks gone learn that stop, drop and roll won’t work in hell…
Just a damn joke. Not even an offensive one at that. Something is wrong with the humor in the world………
I read some of the comments on his FB page……Its. Just. A. Joke. my gosh.
LOVE me some DAWN
Greatest comment I read on there:
Andy Holmes
Keep telling jokes. About anything. Intelligent people with a sense of humor understand. Small minded fools will get offended.
Open discussion, including potentially inappropriate statments about *anything* is a part of free speech.
When we self-edit for the sake of of overly-sensitive idiots, we only serve to lower the collective intllegence of the conversation.
The world is not a “sensitive” place. Lying to ourselves and pretending it is means we’ve really lost.

I AGREE!!!
We all know it was a joke but it’s just not very clever to be making a joke about a sad situation like this…
umm guess he got his “REACTION” dumbazz YT has been out of pocket since Obama got elected SMH
Distasteful, yes. Using a very unfortunately situation to promote a brand. Outraged, I am not. So much I want him to die, not at all! So much to the point I want to berate him and call him names, no. Enough I feel like I would tell everyone around me to never buy his clothes, not even in the least bit. I think everyone needs to calm down(at least some individuals who left comments on his FB).
It was funny BECAUSE it was offensive. Clever play on words. People have been making careers off of being tactless for years. What is new?
looks like Lindsay Lohan’s dad.
Yeahhhhhhhh… that was an idiot move.
Now if we took out the Cairo part and inserted the bombing in Russia would we get the same reaction?? Or would the uproar be greater??
Just asking.
crazy. his schit’s way too expensive. who’s buying it?
LOL@pointhimout I love your gravatar..LOL.
This tweet was just “Poor Taste”.. ..
And the offensive part would be…
People are in Egypt dying for the “freedoms” people in the US take for granted. It’s sad that the situation there is reduced to a punchline in a joke. Nevertheless, I didn’t expect anything more from some people.
