In breaking news out of Washington DC, U.S. President Barack Obama has decided he will not release death photos of 9/11 mastermind Osama Bin Laden.
Sources are telling media outlets that Obama, who was raised a Muslim, feared disapproval from the Muslim world if he “disrespected” the mass murderer.
Conspiracy theorists and Al Qaeda had called for the White House to release the gruesome photos to prove that Bin Laden was dead after Obama announced he was executed early Sunday morning in Islamabad, Pakistan.
But Obama, who ordered a sea burial for Osama in accordance with Islam traditions, stood firm on his decision not to release the photos.
“Bin Laden is not a trophy,” said Obama in an interview he taped today with CBS News program “60 Minutes”.
Said Obama: “The risks of release outweigh the benefits. Conspiracy theorists around the world will just claim the photos are doctored anyway, and there is a real risk that releasing the photos will only serve to inflame public opinion in the Middle East.”
He added: “Imagine how the American people would react if Al Qaida killed one of our troops or military leaders, and put photos of the body on the internet. Osama bin Laden is not a trophy — he is dead and let’s now focus on continuing the fight until Al Qaida has been eliminated.” Source

REUTERS Pictures and The Guardian UK has the gruesome death scene photos showing the bodies of 3 men inside the shot out compound where Osama bin Laden died. Click HERE to see the photos but be warned: they are graphic!
Osama is not in any of the pictures. For now, the bin Laden pictures are under lock and key — at least until Barack Obama is voted out of office.

Its not just that fact that people want a body. Its the fact that those affected want some form of closure. Same reason why victims families view executions. Or country was affected for YEARS because if this man. I live in a military town and BEFORE it was released on the news they called ALL MILITARY POLICE to the base for security.
I think it wise they did not relase the photo. It would have spelled more death and suicinde bombing for our troops.

And that’s exactly what he would be doing if he was to release the pics, trying to please everyone and he doesn’t have to do that.
Our local news was showing the reactions of the pres, Hilary and others as they were looking at the pics and it was not pretty, you can tell by the look on their faces that it was quite emotional. Plus it’s not like we all knew Osama personally anyway and could give a definitely “yes” or “no” “that’s him” or “that’s not him” anyway.
Can we get our billions back from Pakistan? We gave them $1.5 billion a year. Especially since we didn’t have it to give away. I agree they were either involved or incompetent. It really doesn’t matter with the pics because we don’t know who we are looking at anyway, but I do want an anonymous dna test from an outside source.

We saw pictures of the president and military officials seated in a room viewing video of the raid on the house. Can we at least some of that footage. Actually footage of military personnels feet running from the helicopter and storming the house. All we’ve seen is bloody sheets a dirty mattress and some graphics of helicopters landing.

There are conflicting news reports so it’s hard to believe anything. I read that they used facial recognition software to confirm it was him, then I heard that half of his face was blown off.

Those pics and a video were released to the world news media by the Iraqi gov’t. His own countrymen. And yes I do admit the media has a hand in getting those sad images that were mentioned across to our citizens BUT in the defense of my country (and my former bread and butter…the news media)…those same horrific images of babies in Haiti, Katrina victims, etc were not just shown here stateside. The BBC and other international news media showed them too. A lot of people don’t know it but there were Canadian and British journalists in NOLA after Katrina. Some of the most graphic pics WE see in the media are actually captured by int’l journalists.

President Obama was not and is not a Muslim. I’m not sure why anyone still thinks that he was/is. Nothing against the Muslim faith, but if we all act like we want the truth then we need to stop ignorning the truth. He is a Christian man.
And I don’t believe these are pictures from the actual bin Laden raid. I find it highly unlikely that all involved parties would be able to keep the entire operation a secret for over a year (I mean there was literally not one word leaked to anyone outside of the operation) and then suddenly have pictures of dead bodies put out without the President’s authorization.
