U.S. Barack Obama sees the writing on the wall; he seems at peace with the fact that he will be a one-term president.
In an interview that aired this morning on NBC’s “Today” show, the President said his wife and daughters aren’t “invested” in him being president and they would have been fine if he had decided not to run for re-election.
The president senses that he will lose key red states in the upcoming 2012 election — states that are crucial for his re-election. Mr. Obama has come to terms with the fact that he will be ousted from the White House, most likely by the leading frontrunner Mitt Romney.
The former Massachusetts Governor and six other Republican candidates lined the stage at the primary season’s first Republican debate on Monday in New Hampshire where Romney said, “Anyone on the stage would be a better president than President Obama.”
Rep. Michele Bachmann officially announced her candidacy at the GOP debate on Monday. She said her first goal as president would be to repeal ObamaCare.
Among the Republican candidates onstage was former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, whose campaign staff quit on him last week.
Gingrich seemed to suggest that Muslims should be treated like Nazis and Communists if they seek positions with the federal government.
