Celebs Out & About: Ciara

R&B singer Ciara was spotted leaving her New York hotel yesterday heading for the airport in advance of Hurricane Irene’s landfall on Sunday. She was wearing brown leather pants with a white blouse and her favorite pair of Christian Louboutins. Ciara, 25, is busy recording her 1st album for Epic Records under LA Reid. This album should put her back on top where she belongs! The entire city of NY is coming to a standstill as New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg ordered the subway system and other modes of public transportation shut down for the first time ever. NYC will be a disaster area once the trains stop running because most residents don’t have cars.

Mayor Bloomberg also ordered a mandatory evacuation of some low lying areas of Manhattan. And since all of Manhattan is surrounded by water, that includes just about everyone. Some New York and New Jersey residents have already evacuated inland. But hard core New Yorkers who aren’t afraid of a little wind and rain are staying put.

Please bless the East coast as they brace themselves for Irene.

Even if you “ride” out the hurricane and remain relatively unscathed, the aftermath is what can do you in! We had plenty of food in Ike and I had a car full of gas. I lived about 15 minutes from my job and went back by the third day. The power was still off and that meant hardly no gas on my side of town. By the fifth day most people couldn’t return to work due to lack of gas. Almost all of the working businesses were on my side of town I live in now.

It took my aunt over six weeks to get the electricity in her neighborhood up and running. If you can leave, please do. I NEVER want to experience the hell I went through after IKE again. (It didn’t help to learn two weeks later I was 10 1/2 weeks pregnant )

Most of ALL my CLOSE friends and a few of my family members went through Ike and a few of them moved back to Dallas…but MOST of them rode his ass out….

I also have a LOT of family that live in N.O. and they rode out Katrina…hell they found my great uncle on TOP of his church that he owns… he said he wasnt leaving what GOD had built for him…
