Bishop Eddie Long’s Wife Has Had Enough — She’s Filing for Divorce

According to CBS Atlanta 46, the long-suffering wife of embattled Atlanta prosperity preacher, Bishop Eddie Long, has filed for divorce.

Vanessa G. Long released a statement early Friday morning announcing her decision to terminate her marriage to Long, who is the leader of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia.

The statement reads as follows:

“After a great deal of deliberation and prayer, I have decided to terminate my marriage to Bishop Eddie L. Long. Accordingly, I authorized my attorneys to file for divorce on December 1, 2011.

It is my sincere hope that this matter can be resolved expeditiously, harmoniously, and fairly. I ask that you respect my privacy and that of my family, as my attorneys and I have agreed that we will not try this case in the media, and I do not intend to make any further statements concerning this matter.

I also ask that the public pray for my entire family during this difficult period of transition.

Thank you, and may God continue to bless and keep each of you.” Source

The divorce proceeding follows a tumultuous year for the Bishop, who, earlier this year, settled a sexual misconduct suit brought by 4 former Longfellow Youth Academy students, and a fifth man who was not included in the suit.

its pretty easy…

Marinate the fish with lemon pepper seasoning and lemon juice. Then put wrap it in foil and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes cause fish doesnt take long to cook. Once its done garnish with parsely…I’m using three different types of fish to showcase my skills

@JMO.. RE: steak sauce. allegedly bomb bbq and steak dont need no sauce as you are then supposedly covering up the flavor. i aint buying it though. The chef came out the kitchen on my ashe at gallagher’s because i asked the waiter to bring me some A1.

Cali!! WCC ! Huggggssss! May you guys have a relaxful/stressful weekend! I got a “LEVY” put on my account for owing the state $219 and the banks processing fee for that Levy is $125 Im too through. Really, granted I know I owe(d) them. $219 though. You freeze my bank account for that wen you could’ve got it out of my taxes in January. SMH This is what I get for filing Married file seperate smfh. Alas, I called the STATE got it taking care of. They was looking for a bish a bish ignored them. They Froze my bank account and made my AZZ look for them! With that said the weekend can go on as planned. In PEACE! lol. Think positive and positive will happen! I was going to call and threaten to blow buildings up. Thought about it. Was nice and pleasant got the Levy lifted and the processing fee refunded. I posted about this earlier. This verse is a reference to the destruction that Judah and Jersualam experieced when Babylon destroyed them in 587BC. Isaiah 4 is a continuation of Isaiah 3.

Good morning!

That verse is speak of is Isaiah 4. It is a continuation of Isaiah 3. This is actually a prophesy of the judgement that fell Judah and Jerusalem when the King of Babylon destroyed them in 587BC.
The nations where brought the same and the the women were made desparate because of those men who died and were taken into captivity.

This verse needs to stay in it’s historical meaning.

@ West Coast Chick: thanks for the scripture explanation, hun. I also want to add my theory on why there are such fewer men compared to women in the population. This is just my theory: I think men are natural born predators. So for that reason their numbers are controlled both biologically and culturally (think prisons, violent deaths, etc.). Can you imagine what life would be like if there were more of them than us females?

Scriptures need to be kept in context, keeping in mind their historical context. The verses quoted were prophesies by Isaiah fulliled in the 6th century BC. Nothing to do with current human population.

Either way, I’m glad she finally left him. Surely now his membership will dwindle even further. I wonder if the doors of the church will ever close.
