Yesterday, Nick Cannon’s CBS Radio publicist sent out a press release to the media and blogs confirming media mogul Nick Cannon’s triumphant return to his radio gig at 92.3 WXRK this morning after spending a week in the hospital with an unknown medical ailment.
The statement read:
Nick Cannon, morning show radio host, of “Rollin with Nick Cannon” on 92.3 NOW returns back on the air tomorrow, January 9th. Cannon was rushed to the hospital last week while in Aspen suffering from “mild kidney failure”.
Besides the fact that there is no such medical diagnosis as “mild kidney failure”, we were happy to hear that Cannon had recovered well enough to return to work.
I know I wasn’t the only blogger who set my alarm clock to wake me at 5 a.m. this morning to hear Nick update his listeners on his condition. But Cannon was not on the air this morning.
At 9:10 a.m., the CBS Radio publicist sent an update email (too late for those of us who already set our alarm clocks):
UPDATE: Nick Cannon was not well enough to do his show this morning and cancelled last minute. More information on his condition and return will be sent once we get the details. Visit 923now.com for the latest info.
We apologize for the confusion.
A tweet Nick sent out on Friday to his 3 million followers may explain his mystery ailment. The tweet indicates Nick may have had kidney stones removed.
