According to TMZ.com, Hazell Stoudemire Jr., the older brother (and the only sibling) of NBA star Amar’e Stoudemire, was killed in a fiery car crash in Florida early this morning.
The accident happened on Route 27 in Lake Wales. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Stoudemire was driving at a “high rate of speed” when he collided with the rear of a tractor trailer.
He died on the scene.
The Florida Highway Patrol says 35-year-old Stoudemire was not wearing a seat belt when he smashed into the big rig … and they are unsure if alcohol was a factor.
Singer Ciara, who once dated Amar’e, tweeted her condolences: “So sad to hear the news about Hazel. That guy was an awesome person with so much personality. May he RIP, my prayers go out to his family.”

Yep, and the main reason was because folks weren’t wearing the lap belts when those automatic belts were in cars. The lap belt is what holds the bottom portion of the body down, so when folks were having accidents their entire upper and lower bodies were being thrown into the automatic belt which caused them to get decapitated. I guess manufacturers thought it would be better just to not have them in cars if folks would have to remember to strap something on…they might as well strap the whole thing on all at once…
