Someone within Whitney Houston’s camp sold her out to the National Enquirer. The national gossip rag displays a photo of the pop icon lying in an open coffin wearing a purple dress on the cover of this week’s issue. The photo is believed to have been taken inside the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, where her family attended a private wake last Friday.
No word on how much the magazine paid the insider for the photo.

The family didnt sell this picture. I believe it was either the funeral director or the worker who did Whitney’s outfit and makeup. Look at the place there is no one in that room. It does not look disturb. Whoever took it I am sure got paid alot. Whitney looks so peaceful. She is finally at peace

I am to bet the Funeral home director who looked xtra special at the funeral with she gold jacket looking like Elton John. That picture was more than likely taken before the family got there to approve the body and before the spread of flowers was placed on the foot of the casket. She looks beautiful and i am sure the family is livid as that day was invite only and private.
I have pictures of my grandmother from her recent funeral & Wake and they are for my eyes only. I have pictures of us taking turns kissing her before we set off to her burial.
Although some of us black folks may video and tape a funeral in a minute I am glad i havent seen a dramatic fall out with the guilty family member crying and passing out on the floor screaming and trying to climb in the casket with thier dead family member.

Personally I have a problem looking at the open casket at funerals. I look past it. While I was curious to see how she was laid to rest, I looked, said a little prayer for her and kept it moving… but the leaking of the pictures is highly disrespectful…
@Twilight – Funerals Homes really don’t need adverstiment. Most can’t afford t have that kind of funerl. Her casket probably cost in the neighborhoold of 20k. Most folks don’t have burial insurance and your average casket cost about 2 to 10k.

I peeked at the website and saw that it was only 5 comments on the guest book page 3 days after the funeral and now its like thousands now. Once they display their business name it is advertisment in my opinion. The only Orbituary there is 4 or 5 including Whitney and hers is the longest.
If they leaked it they want people to say what a wonderful job they did with laying Whitney away being that it was a closed casket for the funeral. Crazy as it sounds some people do that. I know a couple of funeral homes i told my family NOT to call in the event that God calls me home because some be making folks look other than themselves.
I have seen people put away just as Whitney. My former Supervisor who passed had a 2 white horses & carriage pulling her casket with 7 white limos for people who needed a ride along with the rest of the percession. She had her viewing/Wake at one church and had her funeral at her church.

She looks nice and at peace. I use to not like seeing pics of people in their casket. After going to many funerals it doesn’t bother me. I have seen some not so nice make up jobs for the dead and not so nice wigs. She looks nice.
