Rihanna’s out-of-control behavior and recreational drug use has come back to bite her. Cosmetic tycoon Stefan Heidenreich is blasting cosmetics brand Nivea’s decision to hire the troubled singer as their spokesmodel.
Heidenreich – the new head of Nivea’s parent firm, Beiersdorf – told German media that the singer should have been considered a “no go” for the brand’s family image.
Heidenreich, 49, said: “The [ad campaign] starring Rihanna was a no go. I do not understand how Nivea can be brought into association with Rihanna.”
Heidenreich added: ‘Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family and reliability.’
Rihanna’s life has spiraled out of control in recent years. The 24-year-old Barbados native is reportedly a recovering alcoholic. She often tweets photos of herself smoking marijuana, and she has been accused of encouraging drug use among her young, impressionable Twitter.com followers.
Now maybe Rihanna will come to her senses and take responsibility for the destructive messages she is sending out to young children.
