Is this your son? Police seek thug who punched teacher (attack caught on video)

Police are seeking the identity of a teenager who punched a well-respected CAPA teacher, knocking him out cold.

Grainy surveillance video captured the violent attack on James Addlespurger, 50, a teacher at the high school of Creative & Performing Arts, in Pittsburgh last week.

The video surveillance shows Addlespurger approaching a group of teenagers in an alley. Addlespurger paused to exchange words with one of the teens who lunged at the English teacher and knocked him out with one punch. Addlespurger fell, hitting his head on the curb as the teens celebrate.

Police say Addlespurger is recovering from his head injuries at home. Anyone with information about this vicious attack is asked to contact police.

No Sandra thats a child who didnt get his azz at a young age. Now whats baffling is that this is a Performing Arts school. Those kids are usually smart as hell. U rarely see gangs or this type of behavior at Performing Arts school because it took so much to get in especially if u weren’t in the school district.

All bull crap aside though Sandra I would like to thank you for making me understand the effect that whooping and screaming at your child has an effect on them and the way they act when they go out into public. I grew up getting whoopings so it was normal to me. You always say that if you scream at your children they go to school and scream at other people and all of it is so true! My husband and I agreed to stop screaming at our children, and find other methods of punishing them. It changed our children and their behavior in school and everywhere else. Now dont get it twisted because we still teach them about protecting themselves. People this is what happens when you scream at and hit your children…Trust me I know!

My mom raised seven kids, who had 27 grandkids and 8 greats… alll on ass whippins… only one ONE grand child has been to jail in my family (the one on Jerry Springer show… but we won’t get into that right now) ALLLL of them has respectable jobs, non drug addicts… I say an ass whippin is necessary in certain situation. I never really got a butt whooping… maybe a slap on my hands a few times growing up and alot of “talks” and I surely will beat my children if I see them acting up and they fail to listen to my previous warnings.

I have to disagree with this here. I was beat and yelled at as a kid. I KNEW it was because I had done something wrong and grew to fear getting the belt. I was also grounded and all that, too. Turned out pretty good. THe problem is these kids don’t fear punishment. If a kid doesn’t care if you swat him a couple of times on the butt, he sure isn’t going to care that you take away his PS3. Some criminals are made, but some are just born.

Kids are smart they know when they are doing something wrong I feared my parents discipline, and it kept me on the straight and narrow, and thank my mother and father as much as possible cause Lord know without that discipline aint no telling where I would be

I took a different turn with my sons and daughters as well. Its not about whooping them now out of fear the police will get them when they are older, it was about teaching them and making them understand Authority and how to respond to Authority. I capitalize the word because it is very important around my house. When I call your name or tell you to do something as your Authority figure you do it. So when my son is older and the police tells him to stop, put your hands up….he will DO IT! and think about why they even asked him to do so once he is in a safe place. Now with this comes great responsiblilty, because you have to teach your kids about people that do not and will never have their best interest at heart…

I know plenty of bad azz kids who get whoopings. I got them and I was bad as hail. I mean terrible. The times I learned the most is when my mom spoke to me. Those are the things that stick with me as an adult. But those whoopins did nothing to deter me. The military finally got me in line praise God. I don’t spank much at all. It is reserved for the most heinous offenses which my little one doesn’t even come close to committing. I am a proud teaching, attentive parent. As a result I have well behaved kids. They are not perfect, but they are not even capable of the shat going on in this video.

I do applaud Sandra for this message. People can raise their kids how they see fit or course, but she gives us something to think about. Another thing that makes me thinks is why are black people more aggressive than other races? Is it all the whooping in place of talking?

No Naji, she has said it several times and others have said it too. I think she just said it in a way that really made me understand where she was coming from. Also, that fact the whoopings were only making my children very aggressive as well. My oldest son is 13 now, and he is making straight Bs (coming from making all Fs), and doing so many positive things in our community that other kids are looking up to him. When we decided to stop the whippings is when we saw progress in him as well as our other children.

Yeah, I did all that and I got whoopins. When I was young my mom talked to me. By the time I was about 11 she became neglegent due to being caught up in her own issues.
