Rap mogul Chris “Ludacris” Bridges surprised 150 kids at the Thomasville Center of Hope Recreational Center with warm coats, toys, games and arts and crafts yesterday. Thomasville Center of Hope is part of Mayor Kasim Reed‘s initiative to provide children with academics, sports and character-building programs.
“Every child is receiving a toy and coat,” said Luda’s mom Roberta Shields, President of the Ludacris Foundation. “While it’s wonderful to see smiles when they receive the toys, as a parent I am most grateful that through the Ludacris Foundation’s LudaCares Warm Coat [program], we are helping parents keep kids warm this winter.”
Some of you old heads may remember Waka Flocka‘s mom, Debra Antney (not pictured), organized this event for the Ludacris Foundation for years. Target and DTP donated cash and items for the event this year.

I have an old army buddy who came out after he became a preacher. He recently sent me a link to a website about his church to look at, I read it and called him to find out what kind of church it is and found out its a “gay” church of sorts.
This triggered a long, “spirited” debate. I tried to explain to him that I loved him as my homie because he’s always been the spiritual, religious type and was a welcomed contrast to my wild, drinking, clubbing military crew back in the day, but I simply couldn’t support a church that was rooted in sin. To me, I can no more support a gay church than I can support a church where the pastor is boinking half the congregation, one sin is no different than the other. So, the gay sin is no different than the lying one for me, but don’t try to skip over the portions of the biblle that apply to your sin in order to make it right.

I was always taught a sin is a sin is a sin… there is no greater sin than one sin and that they are all equally bad for our souls. What makes a difference in people’s lives and how they live them is if they are repeat offenders of the same sin many times over and they KNOW they are doing wrong many times over. Everyone sins everyday it’s just up to ourselves to repent when we lay down at night and strive not to repeat the pattern if we truely want to follow the footsteps of Jesus and the path that God laid out for us. We are all humans and we make mistakes but we have to make corrections if we want to be accounted for. That is if you all believe in God. I know there are others who believe in other things, but what I’ve said is along the lines of Christianity. I dont want anyone taking offense to what I’ve said saying I’m forcing my beliefs on them.

But this is my opinion though. Unfortunately in Church hell they have a gang of other mess going on too

At the same time, this is what is taught in the Word, however I have no heaven or hell to put anyone in. That said, I don’t accept that lifestyle for MYSELF and never would, never wanted to – but I can’t judge anyone who has – only God can judge them.

very good question. it all depends on why we are fighting wars. personally i believe we dont need to be in the middle east but a lot of individuals are just earning their keep and what they signed up for… free housing health and dental care free college money…etc. They dont wnat to but they have to in order to get what they are promised. I’m also sure that if a person feel that if they are in a compromised position that they would take the initiative to turn away and or do what’s right…even if it puts what you’re in the military for at risk. Just depends on your morals and goals.

You ain’t ne’er lied! And that is the part that turns people who are seeking to worship away. It’s sad. I can say that I have struggled with staying with one church because of the cliques, the mistreatment, and folks looking down their noses at others. I saw too much of it.
When I was a member at a very popular church in Detroit, I brought a friend to a family and friends day program, and have never been so embarrased in my life. We were made to stand outside the sanctuary and literally watch the service through the glass in a ridiculous line for over 40 minutes. The ushers were calling out people they knew that were in line and escorting them in FIRST. “Oh, come on Sister such and such” Or “Hey Brother! What you doin’ all the way back there? Come on in and be seated.”
I was done. I promise you. Done.
