According to industry insiders, Kris Jenner, the controlling matriarch of the Kardashian family, has an unspoken agreement with certain weekly magazines to give Kourtney Kardashian superstar coverage — in exchange for scoops on Kim Kardashian.
Many celebrity observers will agree that Kourtney is the most boring of the Kardashian sisters. But the weekly’s editors reluctantly go along with Jenner’s demands so they will be first in line for the more juicier scoops.
The news of Kim’s alleged pregnancy erupted in a flurry of emails, phone calls and texts between Jenner and editors of US Weekly — who are reportedly outraged at Jenner for not telling them Kim was pregnant.
A cover revealing Kim’s pregnancy probably would’ve sold more magazines than one with Kourtney sharing her post-pregnancy “diet secrets” — for which US Weekly paid $200,000.
Most readers don’t even remember that Kourtney gave birth to a girl, Penelope, back in July. But there she is on the cover of this week’s US Weekly — instead of a pregnant Kim.
Word is that Jenner made a mad scramble to sooth tempers after Kanye West let slip the news of Kim’s alleged pregnancy during a concert last weekend.
