An 11-year-old Yemeni girl ran away from home to escape an arranged marriage to an older man.
Nada al-Ahdal was saved from an arranged marriage only after her uncle intervened. In a video posted on YouTube, Nada says: “Go ahead and marry me off – I’ll kill myself.” While we shudder to think what our lives would be like to be married at 11, it is tradition in other cultures.
In America, girls are not considered adults until they turn 18. But in other parts of the world, girls become adults when they begin menstruating — usually around 12 years of age. In other cultures young girls are married off as early as 7 or 8 years old to ease the financial burden of families living in poverty. Love has nothing to do with it.

My views reflect what I want for my own children no one else… I guarantee there are young moms who do a dang good job raising their kids, My sister and ALL of my close HS friends were teen moms… I witnessed each of their individual struggles first hand and I learned from that and made the choices I made.. All I’m saying it’s not something I want for my own daughters and that’s my stance on it.. No one else has to like it or agree with it at all

My family was a little too supportive, ive come to believe. Still is. I see the same thing with my sister..but she is not a teen. She is also not half as responsible or “motherly” as me, and my mama is picking up the slack.
I was blessed in that even tho I made a “mistake” it was viewed that way outside my family, not within. So it was rally a keep calm and carry on type situation. To my family, family is everything. I wanted to get an abortion and wasnt allowed. I was still expected to do everything they “dreamed” for me.

What I will say is, although I was 17 getting pregnant actually changed my life for the better. The path that I was on would not have turned around so quickly without being forced to take on that responsbility. And I def learned my lesson which is why my kids will be 10 years apart. My mom had my sis at 15 and she was expected to sit on welfare and pop babies. She did have 3 total kids by 2 diff men and divorced BUT she always taught us to do better. So far I am the only one with kids. Only one married. So even if you don’t marry or do it “in the right way” you and your kids can have an even better life than you imagined. My siblings may never marry or have kids but either way I know they are good people and would create a great home for someone

According to KOAT, the man, who did not want his identity revealed, at first thought a homeless person had relieved themselves on the spot, but then it happened again, and then twice more, most recently this past weekend.
“This is malicious fecal distribution,” he told reporters.
In the video, he said, the young, blond-haired woman runs into the alley by his house, “drops her pants, lets go, puts her shorts back up without any wipe, nothing else” and then runs away.
The first incident took place on Easter Sunday. The defecations always occur on weekend mornings, he said.
“If it happens again, I’m going to run out there with a hose and hose her down and say, ‘Bad human!’” he warned. He reportedly has not handed the video over to police because he believes that they will not take the (fecal) matter seriously.
