Fashion designer and millionaire socialite Tamara Mellon has tired of her Upper East Side mansion penthouse with its to-die-for walk-in shoe closet. The 47-year-old Jimmy Choo co-founder is listing her posh penthouse for $34 million, according to Curbed NY.
From Curbed NY:
Perched atop the 1913 Carhart Mansion at 3 East 95th Street, there’s a duplex penthouse with 5,200 square feet of private terraces, and it was just dropped on the market for $34 million. The seller, fashion designer Tamara Mellon, bought the stunning place from Edgar Bronfman, Jr. for $21 million in 2008, and while “the terraces are heaven,” the Times says she’s moving because she “wants to experience a more downtown vibe.” In addition to the three terraces, she’s giving up 10 rooms, five bedrooms, four wood-burning fireplaces, a solarium, and a killer 13-by-23-foot walk-in closet/dressing room with “built-in shoe racks and discreet frosted windows that turn transparent at the top.”
