Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz Protest Outside the Nigerian Consulate

Singer Alicia Keys and her music producer husband Swizz Beatz are not satisfied with Nigeria’s response to the plight of 200-plus school girls who were abducted by Boko Haram rebels in April. Alicia and Swizz held a protest outside the Nigerian Consulate to demand the return of the girls.

Keys, 33, and Swizz protested along with 30 women who chanted “When do we want them? Now! Now! Alive!” Keys is pregnant with the couple’s 2nd child.

I think it has more to do with the “sensationalism” of international or global issues. It puts them in an even bigger spotlight and enlarges their platform. The people who need help are then put on the map and encouraged to start go fund me accounts. The starrh looks like a hero, which will generate more revenue for them. Everybody wins.
