2 Dead, 4 Injured in School Shooting Near Seattle Update

A gunman is dead and at least 2 students are injured following a school shooting near Seattle, WA.

CNN is reporting “multiple people have been shot” inside a cafeteria at Marysville-Pilchuck High School.

Seattletimes.com reports a student who opened fire on other students is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

CNN aired footage of students being led from the school. Hundreds of students and teachers are still on lockdown inside the school.

CNN still has not reported on the death of the shooter.

Initially students thought the shooting was a fire drill. Local officials held an emergency drill at the school on Thursday.

Update: CBS reports at least 2 dead, 4 wounded in Washington school shooting.

I’m sitting here thinking about how I cried like a baby at my desk of them babies in Newton.
It was so bad they thought someone I knew was involved. I just kept thinking about Time Jr. going to a place of learning and fun and not coming home.

I am trying not to go in because I might offend but these punk a kids coming up in the schools shooting innocent people because they are upset really piss me off. Forgive me but (Big Sean voice) IDGAF if somebody comes into a school and shoots my kids up because they got teased and my kid didn’t have nothing to do with it hell hath no fury. Or even if my kid was being a dack unless they put their hands on you and you were defending your life then you do not have the right to take theirs. I am not saying you are doing this by any means but I feel that people make too many excuses. Yes mental illness is real. When people recognize it they need to address it, treat it and not agitate it. But some people are just plain out mean, vindictive and crazy … that’s it

So this is how my Friday is going to end? How it started… in a sad post.. feeling meh??? I was on the verge of some giglges in the Obama post and then this story It’s really crazy out there. I don’t even wanna give the award out anymore …… It don’t even matter :confused:

Just sad dont want to place blame on anyone until we know more.

However if this was the result of a bullying incident, this shows more and more how the schools need to change their policy because often the victims are the ones prosecuted. Schools often would not do anything to the bullies because physically they have not done anything or they cant prove it but when a child keeps crying out for help something more needs to be done rather than isolating them, sending them to the often at times pointless school counselor or sending home recommendations for them to get therapy

What kind of gun controls would you suggest? I’m of the mindset that most people who use guns illegally don’t give a fukk about a gun law and will get their hands on ’em by any means necessary. But MrsTee we cant regulate how someone else “feels”. Words dont hurt you but they may damage another kid to the bone. They dont have a right to take a life. Full stop. BUT bullies and people who pick incessantly should take some personal responsibility.

I will be there for you and support you but I will not enable you or lie for you. Taken9.75 is very softhearted. Both good and bad. She feels like everything should go her way and she should win everything. When she doesn’t she sulks. I have had several conversations with her where I tell her suck it up if you want to be the best you have to beat the best. Whether it be at spelling, dancing or sports it all takes practice. You cannot expect things to be handed to you. She is slowly coming out of it but I see it as a symptom of her generation. I refuse to let her feel like she is supposed to win at everything when she doesn’t deserve it. There is a winner and a loser at times. We even told Taken2 and 3 this recently. I of course do not think it is right to bully someone or make they learning experience hostile or unpleasant. There comes a point when it just goes to far. Especially with social media being so accessible to kids. I am really not about blame the teacher…. i just think there has to be something missing. If someone is getting bullied so badly that they turn around and KILL someone you mean to tell me there were not ANY signs that it was THAT serious? If the “bully” was good at secretly doing it and the kid never tells then is it on the parents for not noticing a change in the child? Or we expecting too much from the teachers to say they should have noticed it was happening? I don’t know… But what I do know is that at the end of the day rarely does the person who felt victimized come in and shoot 1 person. They normally take it out on whoever is in range. And for that I say it can’t all be about the bully or be all on that …the “victim” has to own responsibility in It also.

Im not being facetious. So many studies have shown these kids pick the guns right up, no lock and key on them. These kids come from homes of those who believe so fervently in their rights to bear arms that they keep those arms in plain sight cause of the “boogey man” ..too bad the boogey man is often their kid. :confused: I QUESTION the mental ability of anyone who is afraid of the boogey man but dont recognize their own deficient ass kid.

For clarification, I am not even thinking about Joe up the street who keep a toolie in his glove box, or even Ramondo who pulled it out in the liquor store for fifty measly dollars. I’m talking this specific kind of targeted shooting..schools, workplaces, public events. Hindsight shows us more often than not there were signs and indicators. As of now, we can go buy guns, no mental health check. I think that is the most basic thing we can do along with the 5day waits so that ppl don’t get fired on Friday and show up Monday blasting with a gun they copped in walmart.

The second amend.. :eyeroll: Our god given right right? That was adopted a few short years after the War? Times change and so do we. That’s what I think about that.

My brother graduated from this school a couple of years ago, he was one of the only black kids. My mom still lives there, its a very depressing place to live.
