NY Mayor Bill de Blasio is blaming the tenacious NY media for ousting one of his top advisors.
Rachel Noerdlinger made headlines over the summer due to her live-in relationship with a convicted murderer, former cocaine trafficker and cop-basher.
Noerdlinger agreed to take an unpaid leave of absence following the media’s intense pressure on de Blasio to fire her.
From the NY Post:
Noerdlinger, 44, the right-hand woman for the city’s first lady, Chirlane McCray, announced Monday that she was taking a leave of absence (thankfully unpaid) “to spend more time with my son.”
“I can handle criticism and scrutiny of me, even when it’s mean-spirited,” she said in a clueless statement. “But increasingly, my son has been subjected to attacks that have nothing to do with the public interest, and everything to do with derailing this administration.”
Noerdlinger was referring to the NY media naming her son, Khari, in a report on possible fraud committed by Noerdlinger when she applied for residency in New Jersey so she could care for her son, whom she claimed was involved in 2 car accidents.
But the Post points out that Khari, 17, was active on his high school football team at the time when his mother claimed he was hobbled by injuries.
“The hypocrisy is stunning,” noted the NY Post writer.
At an unrelated news conference, De Blasio slammed the NY media for conducting what he considered to be a communist hunt on his top advisor. “We’ve seen this throughout the history of this country,” de Blasio said.
