Rappers have a love/hate relationship going with their tour DJs. A DJ can either bring the noise or bring the curtains down on a show if they mess up the tracks during a rap concert. On Thursday, Lil Wayne abruptly ended his concert at Nova Southeastern University and stalked off the stage when the DJ messed up a track off Weezy’s mixtape, Sorry 4 the Wait 2, an apology to his fans for the delay in the release his album Tha Carter IV.
Wayne was a victim of a swatting at his oceanfront mansion in Miami. Someone called the Miami Beach police to say he had just shot four people inside the rapper’s contemporary home. But when police surrounded the home and gained entry inside, they found no bodies and no evidence of a bloodbath.
That swatting incident may have been the reason Weezy was so on edge during the concert.
On the other hand, Weezy’s female fans were on the edge of their seats when they saw what the diminutive rapper was working with. And a happy #EggplantFriday to you.
