Pregnant ‘Food Network’ star Cristie Schoen Codd, 38, and her husband Joseph “JT” Codd, 45, (pictured right) were found murdered 2 days after they were reported missing.
A North Carolina man is in custody, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Robert Jason Owens, 36, (pictured left) was arrested and charged with 2 counts of felony first-degree murder. Cristie was 5 months pregnant with the couple’s first child.

Cristie was a contestant on Season 8 of the Next Food Network Star and provides catering services on film sets. A close friend tells 7 On Your Side she was scheduled to go to Mississippi.
Friends also tell 7 On Your Side that Joseph who works behind the scenes on TV and movie sets was supposed to travel to Los Angeles. But neither showed up at their jobs.
Investigators say the couple was reported missing Sunday after family members couldn’t contact them.
Buncombe County Sheriff’s deputies went to their home and found the couple’s vehicles and their two dogs, but no sign of them.
Owens who oversees the Codd’s home when they are away got a panicked call from Cristie’s dad on Sunday. She says he asked her to go over to the couple’s home and check things out.
“There was nothing in that house that was normal,” says Owens. “There was stuff on the floor, all of the closets had been gone through, and there had been papers and stuff thrown around.”
