2 Years after she was unceremoniously fired from the cast of TV drama Person of Interest, the network is bringing back Taraji P. Henson in her breakthrough role as Detective Joss Carter.
POI viewers complained bitterly when Det. Carter was killed off after only two-and-a-half seasons on the show in 2013.
Henson told JET magazine that she always knew she would die on the show, but her death came as a shock to her fans.
Henson is currently on break from Fox TV’s popular hip hop soap opera Empire.
The scripted musical series shattered all modern TV ratings, and Henson’s fire-breathing character, Cookie Lyon, was the main reason viewers tuned in.
Now that she is hot property (and because she needs a steady paycheck during her break), Henson just booked a guest starring role on the show.
But obviously she can’t be resurrected from the dead. So, according to Rhymeswithsnitch.com, Henson will appear in flashbacks involving her and Detective Reese’s struggles with a particular cold case.
Not one to remain idle for too long, Henson was hungry for more work after she was laid off in 2013.
She told JET magazine back then, “Even if it’s just for five minutes that I’m sitting, I’m asking: ‘what’s next?’”
She would get her answer a year later when she landed the role of Cookie Lyon.
The POI episode airs April 14.
